INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR NOVELL NETWARE CLIENT FOR WINDOWS NT AND 32-BIT ODI DRIVER FOR HP J3239A EL-10 ISA LAN ADAPTERS This file describes how to install the J3239A EL-10 ISA LAN adapter with the Novell Netware Client for Windows NT v3.51 or later . The HP J3239A EL-10 ISA LAN adapter comes with the driver files needed to allow under Microsoft Windows NT clients to gain access to Novell servers using the Novell Netware Client for NT (obtained separately from Novell). This ODI driver is self-configuring, which means only the location of the adapter (ie. base I/O address for the ISA adapter) needs to be specified on the NetWare LOAD line. The driver will read the adapter's configuration (ie. interrupt channel) from the onboard memory. The 32-bit ODI driver for Windows NT is located in the HP Support Disk directory: \NETWARE\HPEIOD.LAN To install the HP J3239A EL-10 ISA LAN adapter and it's ODI driver under Windows NT, follow the instructions below: NOTE: Throughout these instructions, the term 'HP LAN Card' will be used to refer to the HP J3239A EL-10 ISA LAN adapter. 1. Install the HP LAN Card. 2. Install Microsoft Windows NT following the directions from Microsoft. NT networking can be installed at this time. However, bind the NT networking protocols to a different adapter than the adapter which the NetWare Requester will use. 3. Install the Novell Netware Client Win NT following the directions Novell supplies. During installation of the NT requestor, when asked to choose an adapter, a list of adapters will appear in the dialogue box. Go to the end of the list and select "<Other> Requires disk from manufacturer". Insert the HP support disk that shipped with your adapter and hit "continue". Enter the full path to the HP OEMSETUP.INF file. The path is: "A:\NETWARE\". Choose the "<Other> Requires disk from manufacturer" selection at the botton the the dialog box containing the list of adapters to choose. Insert the HP Support Disk into the floppy driver and enter the path "A:\NETWARE\" in the dialog box field and press the "Continue" button. NOTE: The HP LAN Card driver may also appear on the Netware NT Requestor disks. When asked to select a driver it will appear in the list. To insure of using the latest HP driver, use the driver off the HP Support Disk. 4. Once the Netware Client for NT has read the OEMSETUP.INF file on the HP Support Disk, the following line should appear in the dialog box: HP J3239A EL-10 ISA Select it. 5. After more files are copied from the HP Support Disk, a dialog box will appear asking to specify the PORT the HP LAN Card will use. Enter the port address. 6. Follow the remaining instructions for the installation of the NT requestor. The installation is complete. <End of File>Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
