DVX-E1 Readme File

 Thank you for purchasing the Canopus DVX-E1!
 This Readme file contains important information that are not included in the User's Manual. Also, this file might contain information that were recently changed or enhanced. Please check this Readme before using.

(1) Precautions

 It is illegal for anyone to violate any of the rights provided by the copyright laws to the owner of copyright, except for fair use (mainly private noncommercial use).Also, in certain cases copying is prohibited with no exceptions. In no event shall Canopus be liable for any direct or indirect damages whatsoever arising out of the use of captured materials.

(2) When screen overlay does not show correctly with certain graphics cards
  If your screen overlay does not show correctly with PCI Express graphics cards), please add the below lines in the Canopus.ini file located in the C:\WINDOWS folder.
        [DVX-E1.dvxcore.conf]
        OverlayMethod=1

  When the overlay does not show correctly when using certain graphics cards, you may also try adding the below lines in the Canopus.ini file located in the C:\Windows folder.
        [DVX-E1.dvxdd]
        OverlayUpdateMethod=1

  If the above setting still does not fix the issue, please try changing the settings as below:
        [DVX-E1.dvxdd]
        OverlayUpdateMethod=0


(3)When using the DVX-E1 hardware with generic OHCI/Sound Cards
 - In certain systems, when using the DVX-E1 hardware together with a generic OHCI card or soundcard, the performance of the OHCI card/soundcard may go down. If that happens, please add the below line to the Canopus.ini file in the Windows folder.

        [DVX-E1.dvxcore]
        PCIConfigChange=1


 If the problem still occurs after doing the above setting, please try below;
        [DVX-E1.dvxcore]
        PCIConfigChange=2
        
     or

        [DVX-E1.dvxcore]
        PCIConfigChange=3

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
