This document contains three sections:

Section A: Upgrade Procedure
=========================================================================

**********IMPORTANT******************************************************
If you have version 2.0 installed on your SMC2804WBRP-G, follow this procedure to upgrade:
Upload the firmware with the recovery page. To get to the recovery page, hold the reset button, and while holding it, plug and unplug the power.
The upload the firmware (it has to be locally stored on your PC). After the
has been done, reset the router to have access the normal GUI again.

1.  Turn on the router and plug it into your network adapter using port 1 through 4 on the router.

2.  Connect to the Web user interface by typing the Barricade's IP Address (ex: 192.168.2.1)in your 
    browser, then click the login button (if you have not already set a password - otherwise 
    enter in the correct password)

3.  Click on the "Tools" link, then click the "Firmware Upgrade" option. The "Firmware Upgrade" screen will appear.

4.  Click the "Browse" button and point it to the location of the firmware file. 

5.  Next click the "Apply" button and follow the prompts. You will notice the lights on the Barricade 
    will react in a certain sequence.  Wait patiently while the Barricade reboots itself.

6.  Your SMC2804WBRP-G has now been successfully upgraded. 

Note: It is recommended that once you upgrade your router with this f/w you reset the unit to factory defaults.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
