The driver (SMCEZ2N4.SYS) contained in Win95osr2 subdirectory is for 
the following SMC Ethernet adapter:

        SMC EZ CardBus-II 10/100 PC Card

The driver (SMCEZ2N4.SYS) conforms to the Network Driver Interface 
Specification NDIS/4, and is used with Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2

(A) Installing NDIS4 Miniport driver in Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2

    1. Plug SMC's EZ CardBus-II 10/100 adapter into one of the CardBus sockets
       of your notebook.
    2. Turn the power ON, then boot from Windows 95.
    3. When Windows 95 prompts with "PCI Ethernet Controller" in
       "New Hardware Found" dialog box, click the "Next" button.
    4. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"
       form the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the
       "Next" button.
    5. Insert the SMC EZ CardBus-II Adapter Driver Diskette in your floppy drive.
    6. Select "Specify a location" and type Path "A:\Win95OSR2" in the "Add New
       Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the "Next" button.
    7. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
    8. Windows 95 will prompt with "SMC EZ CardBus-II 10/100
       PC Card" in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
    9. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog 
       box, then Windows 95 will copy the driver from A:\ to the 
       C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the SMC8034.INF file from A:\ to
       the C:\WINDOWS\INF directory.
   10. When Windows prompts with "SMC EZ CardBus-II 10/100
       PC Card" in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, 
       click the "Finsh" button.
   11. Remove the SMC EZ CardBus-II Adapter Driver Diskette from your floppy 
       drive.
   12. Restart your computer to initialize the network function.

       NOTICE!! C:\WINDOWS is the directory where your Windows 95
                O.S. is located.


(B) Configuring the NDIS4 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 95
====================================================================

    1. Click the "My Computer" icon in the Main Program Group.
    2. Click the "Control Panel" icon in the My Computer window.
    3. Click the "Network" icon in the Control Panel window.
    4. Select the "SMC EZ CardBus-II 10/100 PC Card"
       item from the "Network" dialog box, then click the "Properties"
       button.
    5. Click the "Advanced" button in the "SMC EZ CardBus-II 10/100 
	PC Card Properties" dialog box.
    6. Configure the parameter settings, then click the OK button in the
       "SMC EZ CardBus-II 10/100 PC Card Properties" 
       dialog box.
    7. Click the OK button in the "Network" dialog box.
    8. Restart your computer to implement the new configuration.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
