This document contains two sections:

A) The upgrade procedure
B) The firmware release history for SMC7904WBRA

Section A: Upgrade Procedure
=========================================================================

1.  Turn on the Barricade and plug it into your network adapter using port 1.

2.  Connect to the Web user interface by typing the Barricade's IP Address (ex: 192.168.2.1) in your browser. You will then be prompted to enter your password (default: smcadmin) to logon to the Barricade.

3.  Click on the "Tools" link, then click the "Update Firmware" option. The "Update Firmware" screen will appear.

4.  Click the "Browse" button and point it to the location of the firmware file (FW_SMC7904WBRA_v053.bin). 

5.  Next click "Apply" button and follow the prompts to begin the upgrade. You will see the message "Processing, please wait" and a percentage bar count up to 100%. When the upgrade is complete the Barricade will reboot.

6.  Your Barricade has now been successfully upgraded. 

Note: It is recommended to make a note of your configuration settings before performing the upgrade.

- Add VLAN information in help page
- Fix SNMP bug, when set SNMP function to WAN side only or LAN+WAN, the SNMP module will not be     activated. 	


v0.52
- Add "Westex Telephone" in setup wizard's ISP selection.
- Disable OAM_CC_Enable flag in ADSL driver. 


v0.51
- Add VLAN(IGMP snooping) function in 7904WBRA.
- Fix a bug in NTP daylight saving, it is always on even if been turned off.
- Add a control of SNMP agent function: disable, LAN only, WAN only, LAN&WAN.
  The new default setting is disabled in this version, and it would be LAN only
  when upgraded to this version(0.50 or older be upgraded to 0.51)

v0.50
- Updated Modem code to v6.0.4.0 for solving ADSL interoperability with certain model DSLAM's
- Making the web management to only accept the root's password 

v0.47
- Disable OAM CC.
- Replace TI's PDSP firmware with the V0.54.
- Updated modem code to v5.2.2.0 for solving ADSL interoperability with certain model DSLAM's

- Fix “DNS IP lost in PPPoE when the link is up and down randomly”
- Add “Remote login block out” function in web server. The user may try at most five times during a period of time, otherwise, the login page will be blocked

- Fix “the bug in setup wizard’s ISP selection, the ISP number in Philippines Is wrong”
- Add New Zealand’s ISP information into setup wizard

- Fix “device continue rebooting when WDS enable”.
- Fix “device would reboot when moving telnet’s menu to show default.”
- Change channel’s default value to 6 instead of 0.
- Fix “DNS server IP can’t be saved in setup wizard when selecting ‘IpoA’”

- Add ISP information of Faroe Island in the setup wizard, also update other countries ISP   information.
- Add Faroe Island in HWLAN’s country code selection page
- Fix a bug in LAN Setting page which will allow the invalid LAN IP be saved by mistake
- Updated modem code to v4.1.2.0 for solving ADSL interoperability with certain model DSLAM's

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
