This document contains three sections:

A) The upgrade procedure
B) The release history for SMCBR14VPN

Section A: Upgrade Procedure
=========================================================================

1.  Turn on the router and plug it into your network adapter using port 1 through 4 on the router.

2.  Connect to the Web user interface by typing the Barricade's IP Address (ex: 192.168.2.1)in your 
    browser, then click the login button (if you have not already set a password - otherwise 
    enter in the correct password)

3.  Click on the "Tools" link, then click the "Firmware Upgrade" option. The "Firmware Upgrade" screen will appear.

4.  Click the "Browse" button and point it to the location of the firmware file. 

5.  Next click the "Apply" button and follow the prompts. You will notice the lights on the Barricade 
    will react in a certain sequence.  Wait patiently while the Barricade reboots itself.

6.  Your SMCBR14VPN has now been successfully upgraded. 

Note: It is recommended that once you upgrade your router with this f/w you reset the unit to factory defaults.

v1.03		.Fixed PPTP tunnel issue. (ps: two win98 clients under NAT)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
