Additional Information Aztech DPD-200 Driver Version 1.01 Table of Contents ================= 1. Important Notice 2. Media/Film Identification 3. How to key in the Media/Film ID 4. Using The Aztech DPD-200 Driver ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Important Notice ---------------- 1.1 This file contains additional information and changes that is not available at the time of printing. 1.2 The Aztech Photo Developer supports Compatible-mode only, not ECP or EPP. As such, please configure your system to Compatible-mode if you are using ECP or EPP. 1.3 If a paper jam is encountered, clear the film path and reset the printer (or restart the system in the case of the internal model) will help to solve the problem. Do not try to remove the paper by force. Please refer to the troubleshooting section in the manual accordingly when handling this issue. 1.4 If you are using an external photo printer, your photo printer may encounter problems with other pass-through devices, Zip drive data transfers, or software dongles that hook to the parallel port. Due to the fact that there is no single set of parallel port specifications accepted across the industry, there are some parallel port/multi I/O adapters, parallel port peripherals, and software dongles that are not fully compatible with the photo printer and may cause unpredictable results when used on the same parallel port connection as the photo printer. If you are experiencing problems with your photo printer, or if you want to connect other parallel port devices or dongles, it would be best to add another parallel port to your computer. Most computer stores carry simple I/O cards that let you easily add a new parallel port. If you plan to use software dongles on the same parallel port connection as your photo printer, contact the provider for your dongle before connecting it to make sure you have a device that is compatible with the photo printer. 1.5 When unloading of film cartridge, it is recommended to depress the top of the cartridge a bit in order for the cartridge to be released easily. 1.6 Ensure that the cover on the cartridge is closed at all time when the cartridge is not inserted into the printer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Media/Film Identification ------------------------- Your media/film cartridge comes with a serial no. that identifies the specific batch of media/film that you will be using (Refer to the top side of the cartridge for this serial no.). The Media/Film ID is used to denote the media's version and sensitivity. For every media/film cartridge, the serial no. looks as follows: DI9-7F005-013B-1-001 ------ Note that the string of underlined numbers associates with a particular Media/Film ID. In this release, use the following Media/Film ID as defined: 013A-1 Media/Film ID: ANOPHGKKPP 013B-1 Media/Film ID: APNPIIMOMM 013B-2 Media/Film ID: AMMMMMMMMM 013B-3 Media/Film ID: AMJKIIMMMM 014-1 Media/Film ID: ARUXMMLNKM 014-2 Media/Film ID: ARSVMMLNKM 014-3 Media/Film ID: AQQTMMLNKM 014-4 Media/Film ID: ARQTMMLNKM 014-5 Media/Film ID: AQPRMMMMMM 014-6 Media/Film ID: AQRRMMMMMM 016-4 Media/Film ID: APWRMMMMMM 016-5 Media/Film ID: AOVQMMMMMM 016-6 Media/Film ID: AOVRMMMMMM 017-6 Media/Film ID: APRRMMMMMM 018-2 Media/Film ID: APSSMMMMMM 018-4 Media/Film ID: AOSRMMMMMM 018-5 Media/Film ID: APRSMMMMMM 019-1 Media/Film ID: APYTMMMMMM 019-2 Media/Film ID: ARSNMMMMMM 019-3 Media/Film ID: AQSNMMMMMM 020-1 Media/Film ID: AMURMMMMMM 020-2 Media/Film ID: AOSQMMMMMM 023-4 Media/Film ID: AOSQMMMMMM 023-5 Media/Film ID: ANSQMMMMMM 023-6 Media/Film ID: ANRRMMMMMM 026-2 Media/Film ID: APTRMMMMMM 027-1 Media/Film ID: AJYTMMMMMM 027-2 Media/Film ID: AITQMMMMMM 027-3 Media/Film ID: AITRMMMMMM 027-4 Media/Film ID: AJURMMMMMM 028-1 Media/Film ID: AISQMMMMMM 028-3 Media/Film ID: AJSQMMMMMM 032-2 Media/Film ID: AJRQMMMMMM 032-3 Media/Film ID: AKVRMMMMMM 032-5 Media/Film ID: AKUSMMMMMM 032-6 Media/Film ID: AJUQMMMMMM 033-2 Media/Film ID: AKURMMMMMM 033-3 Media/Film ID: AKTRMMMMMM 034-2 Media/Film ID: AKUSMMMMMM 034-3 Media/Film ID: ALUSMMMMMM 036-1 Media/Film ID: ALNTMMMMMM 036-2 Media/Film ID: ANPTMMMMMM 036-3 Media/Film ID: ALPSMMMMMM 036-4 Media/Film ID: ANQUMMMMMM 036-5 Media/Film ID: AOQVMMMMMM 036-6 Media/Film ID: AMOTMMMMMM The Media/Film ID can be found on the Media/Film cartridge. Using The Aztech DPD-200 Driver ----------------------------------- 4.1 In the driver installation, Windows 95 CD is needed to install some Microsoft files needed by the driver. 4.2 The Color Management Utility - This utility is included in the driver to provide user with the means to manage the color quality of the printed photos. It also provides user with an utility to input the Media ID specific to each media type. SET MEDIA TYPE: Please check your media ID (on your media cartridge) and make sure that it is the same as displayed. Everytime when you change media, please check your media ID. Refer to Section 2 & 3.1 for more details on setting the Media/Film ID. PRINT QUALITY CONTROL: This portion of the Color Management Utility sets the print quality through the following adjustments: (1) Tone Control (2) Saturation (3) Color Match Table (4) Edge Enhancement 4.3 Print Quality Control - Tone Control allows you to adjust the color contrast of the image. The Non option maintains the original contrast of the image. The Fixed 20% option increases the contrast of the image by 20 percent. The Manual option offers you advanced contrast settings by altering values of the graph. The horizontal axis denotes input values (ie contrast of the original image) and the vertical axis denotes output values (ie contrast of printed image). Black and white colors are represented by 0 and 255, with values in between representing mid-tones. Boxes on the top and bottom of the graph are for high and low input color values respectively. Boxes to the left and right of the graph are for low and high output color values respectively. Saturation Control adjusts the intensity and composition of colors. The Non option maintains the original color intensities. The Manual option allows you to adjust the intensity of the colors by specifying the value in the box provided. For example, a value of 1.3 would mean 1.3 times the intensity of the original image. The Color Match Table adjusts the color balance according to a prefixed color table of different RGB settings and does not require manual adjustment. Edge Enhancement adjusts the sharpness of the image. To access the Saturation, Color Match Table and Edge Enhancement Control, go to the Printer folder and right-click on the photo printer driver to select the properties option. In the properties option, select the Print Quality Tab to proceed. To access the Tone Control, go to the Printer folder and right-click on the photo printer driver to select the properties option. In the properties option, select the Tone Control Tab to proceed. 4.4 The paper size option has been defined into three types: . 3R-1 3x4 in (True Size) -- It is strongly suggested for all third party applications to use the "fit to size" function with this option. It is the true size of our print area, i.e. width: 3 inches, height: 4 inches. This option enables user to get the best result of scaling and printing. . 3R-2 5x6 2/3 in (MS Paint) -- It is a special paper size defined for 640x480 image printed in MS Paint. It is a virtual paper size with width: 5 inches and height: 6 2/3 inches. This option is used only if user is using MS Paint to make a print. In this case, please set all margins to '0' in order to get a nice fit into a page. . Custom -- With Custom paper option, user can define the paper size by themselves. For those application without scaling or "fit to size" function and if the size of the image to be printed is bigger than the paper size of 3R-1 or 3R-2, the printed photo will be clipped or totally cannot be printed like MS Paint. In this case, user should use Custom paper option and define the paper to suitable size to get full size photo printed. In this way, the Aztech DPD-200 Driver can support any size of photo in any third party applications. 4.5 Printing images from Digital Cameras - If you want to print images taken from digital camera, please go to the printer folder and right-click on the photo printer driver to select the properties option. Select the Print Quality Tab and CHECK the Digital Camera Image Noise Reduction option. This is to enhance the quality of the printout for images taken from digital camera. ---------- The End ----------Download Driver Pack
