Presents a summary of the contents for NetWare Server driver installation. SMC95X2.LAN SMC's 32-Bit ODI Server driver for SMC9562TX/SMC9552TX for NetWare Server 4.2 or later version. SMC95X2.LDI The driver module install information file for NetWare Server 4.2 or later version. =============================================================================== (B) Driver Installation for NetWare Server 5.X : 1. Turn off your computer. Insert the SMC9562TX/SMC9552TX in one of the PCI slots that support the PCI "Bus Master" mode in your machine. 2. Connecting the RJ45 port of SMC9562TX/SMC9552TX to the network using a UTP cable (CAT5 cable for 100M/1000Mbps, CAT3/5 cable for 10Mbps network). 3. Power on your compute. Boot it to the NetWare 5.X console prompt. 4. At the NetWare console prompt enter the command load nwconfig to start the install utility. The Installation Options dialog box is displayed. 5. Select the Driver Options menu item and press "ENTER". The Driver Options dialog box is displayed. 6. Select the Configure Network Drivers menu item and press enter. The Additional Driver Actions dialog box is displayed. 7. Insert the SMC9562TX/SMC9552TX Driver Diskette into the 'A:' drive. 8. Select the Load an additional driver menu item option and press enter. The Select a driver dialog box is displayed. Press the Ins key to Install an unlisted driver. A dialog box indicating the A drive will be scanned for drivers is displayed. Press "ENTER" to continue. 9. Press "ENTER" to select the SMC9562TX/SMC9552TX from the Select a driver to install dialog box. A message asking if you want to copy the driver is displayed. Select Yes to continue. The device driver is copied. 10. A screen with three dialog boxes is displayed. To change the driver configuration, press "TAB" to the SMC95X2 Parameters dialog box and modify setup the driver parameters. The parameters might need to be changed from their default values. If you are not sure what values are required for your network, contact your network administrator. 11. Press "TAB" to the SMC95X2 Protocols and select the desired protocols. 12. Press "TAB" to the Board SMC95X2 Actions dialog box. Select the Save Parameters and Load Driver option and press enter to continue. 13. Perform protocol specific configuration as required. 14. Select "NO" when asked if you want to load additional drivers. 15. On the additional driver actions dialog box, select "RETURN" to previous menu and press "ENTER" to continue. 16. On the Driver Options dialog box, select "RETURN" to previous menu and press "ENTER" to continue. 17. On the Installation Options dialog box, select "EXIT" and press "ENTER" to return to the NetWare console prompt. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
