(A-1) Installing the driver in Microsoft Windows 95

1. Make sure your computer is power-off.
2. Plug the adapter into one of the PCI slots of your PC.
3. Turn the power ON, then boot into Windows 95.
4. Windows 95 will find the new hardware automatically,
then "New Hardware Found" dialog box will appear.
5. Select "Driver from disk provided by the hardware
manufacturer" and click "OK".
6. Insert the Driver Diskette.
7. Type Path "X:\WIN95" in the text box, then click "OK".
Notice: X: means the Floppy drive or CD-ROM drive,
such as: A:, or E: etc.
8. Windows 95 will prompt with "SMC EZ Card 10/100
(SMC1255FTX-SC)" in the dialog box.
9. Click "OK" button, then Windows 95 will copy the driver.
10. After finishing file copying, Windows 95 will ask
you to restart the system. Remove the Driver Diskette
and click "Yes" to reboot.
(B) Configuring the driver on Microsoft Windows 95
================================================================
1. Double click the "My Computer" icon.
2. Double click the "Control Panel" icon.
3. Double click the "Network" icon.
4. Select the "SMC EZ Card 10/100 (SMC1255FTX-SC)" item,
then click the "Properties" button.
5. Click the "Advanced" tab.
6. There are 1 items in the "Property" box.
------Media Type
.Specify the media type for the adapter.
.Default: AutoSense
7. Click "OK" button to return to "Network" dialog box.
8. Click "OK" button and restart your PC to make the new
configuration take effect.
(B-1) Installing the driver in Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2
================================================================
Notice: The Windows 95 OSR2 installation CD are needed to
complete this install.
1. Make sure your computer is power-off.
2. Plug the adapter into one of the PCI slots of your PC.
3. Turn the power ON, then boot into Windows 95 OSR2.
4. Windows 95 will find the new hardware automatically, then
"Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box will appear.
5. Insert the Driver Diskette and click the "Next >" button.
6. A screen will appear stating that Windows 95 OSR2 found
a proper driver located on the root directory of the Driver
Disk "X:". PLEASE IGNORE THIS INFORMATION. Click
"Other Locations..." button.
7. Type Path "X:\WIN95" in the text box, then click "OK".
Notice: X: means the Floppy drive or CD-ROM drive,
such as: A:, or E: etc.
8. Windows 95 OSR2 will prompt with "SMC EZ Card 10/100
(SMC1255FTX-SC)" in the dialog box.
9. Click the "Finish" button, then Windows 95 OSR2 will copy
the driver.
Notice: During this copying procedure, Windows 95 OSR2
may request for Windows 95 OSR2 installation CD.
1)When Windows 95 OSR2 asks for the "SMC EZ Card 10/100
(SMC1255FTX-SC) Driver Diskette", click "OK".
2)When Windows 95 OSR2 prompts a "Copying Files..."
dialog box asking for "SMC55V30.SYS", type
"X:\WIN95" in the text box, then click "OK".
Notice: X: means the Floppy drive or CD-ROM drive,
such as: A:, or E: etc.
3)When Windows 95 OSR2 asks for the "Windows 95 CD-ROM",
click "OK".
4)When Windows 95 OSR2 prompts a "Copying Files..."
dialog box asking for files on Windows 95 CD-ROM, type
"X:\WIN95" in the text box, then click "OK".
Notice: X: means CD-ROM drive with Windows 95 CD-ROM,
such as: D:, or E: etc.
10. After finishing file copying, Windows 95 OSR2 will ask
you to restart the system. Remove the Driver Diskette
and click "Yes" to reboot.
(B) Configuring the driver on Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2
================================================================
1. Double click the "My Computer" icon.
2. Double click the "Control Panel" icon.
3. Double click the "Network" icon.
4. Select the "SMC EZ Card 10/100 (SMC1255FTX-SC)" item,
then click the "Properties" button.
5. Click the "Advanced" tab.
6. There are 1 items in the "Property" box.
------Media Type
.Specify the media type for the adapter.
.Default: AutoSense
7. Click "OK" button to return to "Network" dialog box.
8. Click "OK" button and restart your PC to make the new
configuration take effect.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
