A.1 Driver Installation for NetWare Server 3.12
1. Insert Driver Disk in your PC's floppy drive(A: or B:).
2. Change to the NetWare Server directory
for example:
CD C:\SERVER.312
3. Copy the following files from Driver Disk to the NetWare
Server directory.
X:\NETWARE\SERVER\3.12\NBI31X.NLM
X:\NETWARE\SERVER\3.12\MSM31X.NLM
X:\NETWARE\SERVER\ETHERTSM.NLM
X:\NETWARE\SERVER\SMC1255.LAN
Notice: X: means the Floppy drive or CD-ROM drive,
such as: A:, or E: etc.

A.2 Driver Installation for NetWare Server 4.X
1. Copy the following files from the Driver Diskette to the
NetWare Server directory.
X:\NETWARE\SERVER\4.X\MSM.NLM
X:\NETWARE\SERVER\ETHERTSM.NLM
Notice: X: means the Floppy drive or CD-ROM drive,
such as: A:, or E: etc.
2. Change to NetWare Server directory
for example:
CD C:\NWSERVER
3. Load the NetWare Server System by typing SERVER,
then press <Enter>.
4. When the Server prompt appears, load the NetWare Server
Installation Utility. That is,
:LOAD INSTALL
5. Select "Driver options" from the "Installtion Options"
menu, then press <Enter>.
6. Select "Configure network drivers" from the "Driver
Options" menu, then press <Enter>.
7. Select "Select a driver" from the "Additional Driver
Actions" menu, then press <Enter>.
8. Press <Ins> to install a unlisted driver, then press <F3>
to specify a different path.
9. Insert Driver Diskette in your PC's floppy drive and
specify the path X:\NETWARE\SERVER.
Notice: X: means the Floppy drive or CD-ROM drive,
such as: A:, or E: etc.
10. Select "SMC EZ Card 10/100 (SMC1255FTX-SC)" from
the "Select a driver to install:" menu, then press <Enter>.
11. If necessary, select "Select/Modify driver parameters and
protocols" from the "Board SMC1255_1(Driver SMC1255)
Actions" menu, then press <Enter> to set up the driver
parameters.
Notice: Please refer to content (B) for detail.
Otherwise, select "Save parameters and load driver",
then press <Enter>.
12. Follow instructions to complete driver installation.

A.3 Driver Installation for NetWare Server 5.X
1. Change to NetWare Server directory.
for example:
CD C:\NWSERVER
2. Load the NetWare Server System by typing "SERVER",
then press <Enter>.
3. When the Server prompt appears, load the NetWare Server
Installation Utility. That is,
:LOAD NWCONFIG
4. Select "Driver options" from the "Installtion Options"
menu, then press <Enter>.
5. Select "Configure network drivers" from the "Driver
Options" menu, then press <Enter>.
6. Select "Select a driver" from the "Additional Driver
Actions" menu, then press <Enter>.
7. Press <Ins> to install a unlisted driver, then press
<F3> to specify a different path.

(B) Parameters Description for SMC1255.LAN
================================================================
The following parameters are used in SMC1255.LAN.
1. SLOT : specifies which adapter is enabled when multiple
SMC1255FTX-SC adapters are found in your computer.
The SLOT keyword is an index value corresponding
to PCI BIOS. The mapping from SLOT to the
physical PCI slot is different from one computer
to another.
E.g.: LOAD SMC1255 SLOT=3 FRAME=ETHERNET_802.2
2. FRAME : specifies which frame type is used by the driver.
Accepted values are Ethernet_802.2,
Ethernet_802.3, Ethernet_II and Ethernet_SNAP.
Multiple frame types can be enabled by loading
the same driver with different FRAME types.
E.g.: LOAD SMC1255 FRAME=ETHERNET_802.2
LOAD SMC1255 FRAME=ETHERNET_802.3
LOAD SMC1255 FRAME=ETHERNET_II
LOAD SMC1255 FRAME=ETHERNET_SNAP
3. NODE : Uses a different address to replace the node
address burned in EEPROM.
E.g.: LOAD SMC1255 NODE=00030FFFFFFF
4. Medium : Specifies which medium type is used by the
driver. Accepted vaules are AUTO,10-HD,10-FD,
100-HD, 100-FD,100M-FX,100MFD-FX.
E.g.: LOAD SMC1255 FRAME=ETHERNET_802.2 Medium=100-FD

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
