This document contains two sections:

A) The upgrade procedure
B) The release history for SMC7904WBRA

Section A: Upgrade Procedure
=========================================================================

1.  Turn on the router and plug it into your network adapter using port 1 through 4 on the router.

2.  Connect to the Web user interface by typing the Barricade's IP Address (ex: 192.168.2.1) in your browser.You will then be prompted to enter your password (default: smcadmin) to logon to the Barricade.

3.  Click on the "Tools" link, then click the "Update Firmware" option. The "Update Firmware" screen will appear.

4.  Click the "Browse" button and point it to the location of the firmware file(FW_SMC7904WBRA_v039.bin). 

5.  Next click "Apply" button and follow the prompts to begin the upgrade. You will see the message "Processing, please wait" and a percentage bar count up to 100%. When the upgrade is complete the Barricade will reboot.

6.  Your SMC7904WBRA has now been successfully upgraded. 

Note: It is recommended to make a note of your configuration settings before performing the upgrade.

		- Custom remote management port now works with firewall enabled

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
