************************************************************************* * SMC Networks, INC * Barricade Broadband Router * SMC7904BRA2 * FIRMWARE version 0.21a * 9/10/2007 ************************************************************************* This document contains two sections: A) The upgrade procedure B) The firmware release history for SMC7904BRA2 ========================================================================= Section A: Upgrade Procedure ========================================================================= Note: It is recommended to make a note of your configuration settings before performing the upgrade. 1. Turn on the Barricade and plug it into your network adapter using port 1. 2. Connect to the Web user interface by typing the Barricade's IP Address (ex: 192.168.2.1) in your browser. You will then be prompted to enter your password (default: smcadmin) to logon to the Barricade. 3. Click on the "Tools" link, then click the "Update Firmware" option. The "Update Firmware" screen will appear. 4. Click the "Browse" button and point it to the location of the firmware file (FW-SMC7904BRA2-V021a.bin). 5. Next click "Apply" button and follow the prompts to begin the upgrade. You will see the message "Processing, please wait" and a percentage bar count up to 100%. When the upgrade is complete the Barricade will reboot. 6. Your Barricade has now been successfully upgraded. ========================================================================= Section B: Firmware History ========================================================================= v0.21a - Fix ADSL connection and bandwidth problem. - Fix bugs if user set up any VC as 1483 bridging at the last step, CPE doesn't provide Web remote management. - When ping un-reachable address, web will display page-not-found. - Under NAT menu, virtual server sub-item. The “LAN IP ADDRESS” field contains with broken format. - Fix Bug=> The G.992.1 (G.DMT) mode in Operation Mode list didn't work. - Fix Bug => The special symbol that double quotes ( " ) will make Traffic Mapping function can't modify. - Fix Bug => Input characters to full of community field, and after saved value have strange characters in tail. - Fix Bug => If type characters to full of Community fields, it will effect Trap Community fields display. - Fix Bug => The special symbol that double quotes ( " ) will make VLAN Table lost all items. - Fix Bug => In secret key or NAS-ID fields input double quotes ( " ) will make full 802.1X page value lost. - Fix bug => When reset to default, unplug and plug the ADSL line. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
