   Just enable a "Special Application" with null trigger,
   all ports listed in INCOMING PORTS will be blocked out
   even DMZ host is enabled. The following setting is
   recommended when you enable DMZ host:

      Trigger = [    ], Incoming Ports = [ 1-1023 ]

   Note: the above setting will not affect the function of 
   Virtual Server.

4. Fix a bug that causes lock-up problems when WAN type is
   Dynamic IP Address.

3. Support one non-standard FTP port. Please configure
   the non-standrad FTP port on "Misc Items" pages. This
   feature is useful when you have to access an FTP server
   whose port number is not 21.

1. Improve keep-alive function for some ISP.

2. Fix a bug for NetMeeting handling. You have to configure
   the DMZ setting to use NetMeeting.

   is needed to connect to IPSec VPN server. To host an 
   IPSec VPN server on the private network, configure
   port 500 as Virtual Server.

3. Support Auto-reconnect feature for PPP over Ethernet 
   and Dial-Up Network.

4. "Renew IP Forever" will also automatically connect to
   ISP when the connection is broken.

Section D. Platform-independent Firmware Upgrade
************************************************

*  WEB UPGRADE

If your firmware is R1.88 or above, you can use your browser
to upgrade. Please follow steps below to upgrade:

1. Go to the SMC Web site to download firmware image file,
   BR194a.BIN. Remember the location you save this file.

2. Connect the Web user interface and login as system
   administrator.

3. Click the "Firmware Upgrade" button of "Toolbox" page. 
   And the "Firmware Upgrade" screen will appear.

4. Enter the location of the previously downloaded file in 
   the text box, or click "Browse" button to search for the 
   file. And then click "Upgrade" button.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
