DISCLAIMER This disk is FREEWARE! Please do not try to sell this and make money. Because of the use of corporate CD Drivers, this disk does not belong to ANYONE! I am NOT responsible for any data lost or damages from the use of The CD-ROM God. This disk DID go under extensive field testing. Special thanks for testing go out to: Mike C. Dave G. and all the Nashua Tandy staff. + Joe C. Scott M. Gary B. and the Entex team. CREATION Once you have extracted all the files from CDGODXX.ZIP on to a 3.5" 1.44 MB Floppy disk. (You should be reading this off the floppy, after you curse me for not making a disk image) Type SYS A: at the COMMAND prompt! I would suggest a Windows 95 system. (This makes it a booooot disk ;-) Restart your computer and watch the magic... OPERATION Using the CD-ROM God is a "lucky guess" method. You may just have to re-boot many times. If you can't get the drive to spin up, check your hardware! I'd be willing to put a 85% success rate on this disk. If it doesn't see it after every driver, it might be dead... (then eMail me the driver) Boot up your machine. A menu will appear with a list of drivers. INSTALLATION If your not up to editing the config.sys and autoexec.bat of your victim's computer, there is an INSTALL.EXE that can do the job for you. Just run it, and there will be a list of EVERY driver on the CD-God Disk. By pressing Y on the driver(s) you want, it will then WALK you through the rest. WINDOWS 95 If you are planning to load Windows 95 after you find the correct driver, make sure you INSTALL the driver first, then try it without the disk. When Windows 95 reboots during its setup process, you can't boot off the CD-God disk and you won't be able to see the CD. If you have trouble installing the driver, you may consider copying the entire WIN95 directory onto the hard drive, and installing from there. This can be hard if you don't have enough disk space. It's good if you never want to put the Windows 95 CD in again. TROUBLESHOOTING I've had several people come to me and say, "This didn't work at all, I can't get the system to see the CD-ROM." Here's what you need to do. 1. Rip off the cover on the machine. See what CD-ROM is actually in there. Are those drivers listed on the menu? 2. What's it connected to? See were the cables from the back of the unit go. Do they connect to an Adaptec card? If so you probably have a SCSI CD-ROM. Do they go into an I/O controller card, or right into the main-board? 3. Are the jumpers set right? Remember that CD-ROM's have jumpers just like hard drives.
