<<Warning>> Firmware upgrade failure may permanently damage the unit and causing it not to
function. If the issues in the “release note” do not address the problem you are experiencing,
please do not upgrade the firmware.
Never upgrade the firmware using a Wireless Computer.
The upgrade procedure may require resetting the product to factory default state (all current
settings will be replaced by the default settings), when necessary, please record the unit's 
current settings before performing the firmware upgrade.
Please do not load the previously saved Product's "configuration file" to the new firmware.

<<Upgrade Procedures>>

1. Save the downloaded firmware file on a network Computer that has access to TEW-630APB's (Access Point) configuration page.
Close all running programs on this Computer and disconnect all Wireless Devices that are connecting to the Access Point.

2. Unzip the file “Firmware_TEW-630APB_1033.ZIP” and extract the files to the Computer’s hard
drive (write down the path to the files (e.g. C:\TEW-630APB).

3. From the Computer, open Web Browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and go to the Access Point’s configuration page (default
address is http://192.168.1.100). Enter the user name and password to login the configuration page
(default User Name: admin, and no password).

4. Click on "Tools" on the left hand side and click on "Firmware".

5. Under "Firmware Information", check the "Current Firmware Version" and "Current Firmware Date", if they are 1.0.3.3,
27 Feb 2007 or newer, please do not perform the firmware upgrade. Otherwise, under "Firmware Upgrade", click on “Browse”,
locate and select the firmware file “TEW-630APB_v1.0.3.3.bin” (file path from Step 2 above), click on “Open”,
click on “Upload”, read and click on “Ok” at the warning message, and read and click on “Ok” at the second warning message.

6. You should see a message on the screen saying it would take 120 seconds to complete the upgrade.

<<Warning! DO NOT interrupt the upgrade. DO NOT operate the Web Browser (e.g Internet Explorer).
DO NOT disconnect the network cable. DO NOT power off the TEW-630APB or the Computer.>>

7. After the upgrade is completed, the web browser should display the TEW-630APB's configuration login page.


8. Login the configuration page, click on “Status” on the left, under "General", check the "Firmware version".
If the firmware version is 1.0.3.3 the upgrade is successful.

It is not necessary to perform "Factory Reset" after the firmware upgrade, but if the TEW-630APB is not working properly
after the upgrade, please reset the Unit to factory default from the configuration's "Tools" then "System" page or by
pressing and holding the "reset" button on the Unit's rear panel for 10 seconds, and then release it.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
