              WINDOWS 3.1X AND NOVELL NETWARE

This document describes how to configure the LAN PC Card
for use with Windows V3.1x (Not Windows for Workgroups) and
Novell NetWare. These procedures are also described in the
EtherLink III LAN PC Card User Guide.

NOTE: The following instructions assume you have not installed
any other network adapter in the PC. If networking
has already been installed, some of the instructions will
not apply or appear accurate. Consult with your MIS
      department for further instructions.

Before installing the network driver, you should know the
transport used in the Novell Network (typically IPX/SPX) and
have access to the following software components:

    - Novell NetWare VLM Client disks for DOS and Windows
    - The EtherDisk diskette that came with your 3C589D LAN PC Card.

Installation Instructions

exit Windows to return to the DOS prompt.

        a:\install <Enter>.

This opens the NetWare client installation screen.

that the information is correct. When you are asked to select
the driver for your network card, press <Enter> to see the
list of supported adapters. At the bottom of the list, find
    and select Other Drivers.

4. When prompted for a driver disk, put the EtherDisk in your
floppy drive and press <Enter>. 3Com EtherLink III LAN
PC Card Adapter should appear as the first item on the
list. Click to select it and press <ENTER>.

appropriate type from the list. Press <Enter> to select your
choice. (You will not need to select an I/O Base. Use the
    default.)

the cursor on line 6 and press <Enter>. The installer
prompts for several diskettes and notifies you when the
    installation is complete.

go into Windows You will be able to LOGIN to the
