1. Overview
This directory contains the program CPView, a 32-bit image-
viewer for TIFF- and JPEG-files.

2. Contents
Almost all files are compressed, so their names are slightly
changed. Please note that the files can NOT just be copied
from this disk (see installation).
The directory \DIPLomat\CPVIEW contains the following files:

3. Installation
3.1 Installation under Windows 95
3.1.1 Installation from CD
To install CPView under Windows 95, you have to run the
CDSETUP.EXE from the root directory of the CD. In the dialog
comming up now, the hardware and operating system is identified,
and the available tools are displayed. With the arrow buttons or
with the mouse you must choose the item "ELSA CPView, 32- bit-
image viewer" in the window "Installation of:" and click
"Install". Now the files will be copied. A shortcut to the

3.2 Installation under Windows NT 4.0
3.2.1 Installation from CD
The installation of CPView under Windows NT 4.0, is the same
procedure, as it is under Windows 95, so you have to run the
CDSETUP.EXE from the root directory of the CD. In the dialog
comming up now, the hardware and operating system is identified,
and the available tools are displayed. With the arrow buttons or
with the mouse you must choose the item "ELSA Windows tools and
CPView, 32- bit- image viewer" in the window "Installation of:"

3.3 Installation under OS/WARP
3.3.1 Installation from CD
Start the program INSTALL.CMD from the \DIPLOMAT\CPVIEW\OS2
directory.
The program copies all necessary files in a given directory
or generates a new one.
The syntax of the program is:
install.cmd <destination directory>
e.g. install.cmd C:\OS2\ELSAUTIL
If there is no given path for <destination directory>, the
installer copies the files of the Compart viewer to the same
directory where the ELSA graphics driver is located.

4. Description of CPView
The Compart Image Viewer allows to display and print multiple
image documents with multiple pages of various file formats.
CPView is a 32 bit application and runs only in Windows 95,
Windows Nt 4.0 and OS/2 WARP 3.0 and 4.0.
4.1 Features
- Multiple documents can be loaded into one view.
- The display size can be freely adjusted so you can
page very fast through a document and then read the
text with enlarged scaling.
- The Scale-to-Gray mechanism improves the quality of
black/white images so even on small screens it is
easy to read the information.
- Skewed images can be rotated to make them readable.
- Double page mode allows you to show and read two
pages at a time.
- Single pages or entire documents can be printed.
4.1.1 Launching CPView
Open the program by double-clicking on CPVIEW.EXE
For questions regarding the Compart Image Viewer, please
refer to the online help.
Notice: The viewer functions only in combination with the
ELSA DIPLomat.
4.2 File formats
CPVIEW supports following file formats
TIFF uncompressed
TIFF Packbits
TIFF LZW
TIFF FAX Group 3
TIFF FAX Group 4
TIFF CCITT for black/white, greyscale und RGB colors
JPEG for greyscale and colors

5. Known Problems
No masks for TIF- or JPG-files in menu "File Open"
No bubble help available in Windows 95 /-NT 4.0
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
