			   PEPS2 - FIRMWARE UPGRADE
			      Version 3.31
			     October 10, 1995

===========================================================================
These are the instructions for upgrading a PEPS2 Print Server to the
latest firmware. This firmware is found on the PSETUP distribution disk
along with PSETUP.EXE and this text file. The firmware upgrade function
is one of the options of the PSETUP.EXE program.

Attach the PEPS2 Print Server to a network that supports Ethernet packet
type 802.3. Power on the PEPS2 Print Server. (Note: the PEPS2 Print Server
does not need to be attached to a printer.)

Run PSETUP per the manual instructions. Locate the PEPS2 Print Server
upgrade candidate from the list of print servers displayed by the PSETUP
program. If the print server is not in the list, the server may have been
configured for a Novell file server that is no operational on your network
or it may have been configured for a NetBEUI server. In the Novell case,
use PSRECOVR to initialize the print server. In the NetBEUI case, run the
PSETUP program from the LANMAN disk per the manual instructions.

To run PSRECOVR, EXIT program and run PSRECOVR.EXE. This program
can be found on the PSETUP distribution disk in the PEPS2 directory.

   > type: a:\>PSRECOVR -l
(the L option will list the advertising print servers found in the Novell bindery)

from the names listed, determine the name of your unit to upgrade and
  > type: a:\>PSRECOVR <your unit name>
		    i.e. PSRECOVR XCB02030679 for example.

Rerun PSETUP. Locate the PEPS2 Print Server to be upgraded in the list
of print servers. If you are offered a choice of frame types, select 802.3.
Other selections may not work reliably with older firmware releases. This
problem has been corrected for the PEPS2 in version 1.3.4 release of
firmware. Save the changes. Define a print server per the manual instructions.
Save the changes.

If PSETUP responds with an error message, exit the PSETUP program.
Power cycle the PEPS2 Print Server. Restart PSETUP and select the
	print server to be upgraded.

From the menu, select COMMANDS. Select UPGRADE PRINT SERVER, then OK.
The image stored in the file PEPS2.BIN will be downloaded to the print server.

Note: Some versions of firmware will respond with Upgrade Failed for
	Print Server.

Select OK. Select COMMAND. Select DEFAULT PRINT SERVER.
PEPS2 Print Server will be reinitialized. Wait for Print Server Reset and
Select OK. Exit PSETUP Program. Power cycle PEPS2 Print Server.

The upgraded PEPS2 Print Server is now ready to be configured via the
PSETUP program per the instructions in the manual.
