                          Additional Information

                      Multimedia AT5000US Version 1.00


   This file contains additional information and changes about the
   various software that was not available at printing time.


   Modem AT Command Set
   ====================
   The AT Command Instructions Set for the Modem hardware is now available 
   in Microsoft Word format (ATCOMSET.DOC). This document can be accessed
   from the Accessories Menu after installation with the software diskettes
   provided from manufacturer.


   Installation on Windows 95 Platform
   ===================================
   Start up Windows 95 Operating System. Windows 95 will then automatically 
   detects the AT5000 PnP Sound Device and prompts a dialog box with the 
   option "Driver from disk provided by manufacturers" being highlighted.
   Please insert the Audio Installation Disk#1 into Drive A: (or Drive B:)
   and change the path to a:\ (or b:\) and click OK to install the drivers. 
   Windows 95 will then automatically proceed to detect all the other
   logical devices. 
   After system has finished setting up the AT5000 card, pls RESTART the system
   for MODEM SETTINGS to TAKE EFFECT.


   Note: If you do not have Windows 95 Multimedia Applications installed
         previously, system will prompt you to complete the installation of
         the Multimedia Applications prior to the copying of the Audio Device 
         drivers. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the
         installation of Multimedia Application and AT5000 PnP Sound Drivers.

   Next, please proceed to run 'A:\SETUP.EXE' from the PnP Audio Installation
   Disk #1 to install the application software. 

   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP Devices
   (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed in your system).
   To alter the resource configurations, go to Control Panel - System - Device
   Manager and choose the respective device. Click on "Properties" and you will
   be able to change the settings for that respective device.

   For further details, please refer to Trouble-shooting section in Windows 95.



   Installation on  Win 95/OSR2 Platform
   =====================================
   Insert the provided installation diskette #1 into drive A. Win95 will detect
   the AT5000(PnP) IDE Controller Device, click "Finish" to use the found driver
   The system will then prompt a dialog box to insert the disk labelled "disk 1"
   , click "OK".
   Next, the system will prompt for the audio INF file,"aud3006.inf", click "Ok"
   and change path to A:\ .
   The system will then load all the necessary drivers and files needed.
   After system has finished setting up the AT5000 card, pls RESTART the system
   for MODEM SETTINGS to TAKE EFFECT.


   You might encounter some resource conflicts after loading the PnP 
   modem device (especially when there are non-Plug & Play adaptors installed
   in your system). Please refer to Trouble-shooting section in Windows 95 for 
   further details.

   Next, please proceed to run 'A:\SETUP.EXE' from the PnP Audio Installation
   Disk #1 to install the application software.

   Voice Features for AT5000US
   ===========================
   Voice Support is available in terms of Answering Machine Playback &
   Recording of Messages through Telephone Handset on most Telephony
   Applications.

   Note that the AT5000 Audio Telephony Card has no Speakerphone support
   as of now.



   Things to Note :-
   =================
   1.  AT5000US can be set up on both WIN95 and WIN95(SR2) but no support
       on WIN3.x platform.

   2.  There is no VoiceView Feature provided although drivers do support
       VoiceView Compatibility.

   3.  There is no speakerphone support provided for the AT5000US

   4.  Windows Dos Terminal Emulation is not supported as yet. Applications
       like Telix and NC Terminal Mode cannot be run in WIN95 Dos Emulation
       Box.


   MIC3D /MIC Option
   =================
   If you have enabled the Mic Monitoring in DOS mode and noticed that
   there is no sound from the speaker when you speak to the Mic, try 
   adjusting the Mic volume by using the MIX or VOLSET utility.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
