    PostScript Language Printer Driver for Microsoft Windows NT 4.x,
    Windows 2000 and Windows XP
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    This driver generates PostScript Level 2 and LanguageLevel 3 language
    which will not print on printers with only Postscript Level 1 emulation.
    Output intended for LanguageLevel 3 printers may not print correctly
    on Level 2 printers.

    This README file contains the following sections:

    I. Coexistence with Other PostScript Printer Drivers
    II.  Installation Instructions
    III. Envelope Printing
    IV.  Application Limitations
    V. Specifying the Number of Copies
    VI.  Specifying the Scale
    VII. Downloading Overlays

    I. Coexistence with Other PostScript Printer Drivers
    ======================================================

       This driver is intended to coexist peacefully with other Windows printer
       drivers, including PSCRIPT, Microsoft's PostScript printer driver.
       Installing this driver will not delete any installed drivers and should
       not affect their operation in any way.

    II. Installation Instructions
    ==============================

    IMPORTANT: SKIP THIS SECTION if you intend to use the INSTALLATION
    UTILITIES provided with your printer to install your printer driver.
    The instructions in this section are provided for your information
    only in case you want to install the printer driver manually.

       Take the following steps to install the printer driver.

        1. Start Windows NT 4.x, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

        2. Select the Start button on the task bar. For Windows NT 4.x
            and Windows 2000 select Settings and then Printers. For Windows XP
            select 'Printers and Faxes'.

        3. For Windows NT 4.x and Windows 2000 double-click the Add Printer
            icon. For Windows XP click the 'Add a Printer' icon. The Add
            Printers Wizard dialog box is displayed.

        4.  Select the Next> button.

        5. Select Local or Network printer and then select the Next> button.

        6. Select the appropriate printer port (normally LPT1:) and select
            the Next> button.

        7. Select the Have Disk... button.

        8. Enter the path to the driver files on your disk or the CD.

        9.  Select the OK button.

        10. Select the appropriate printer from the list and select the Next>
            button.

        11. If the driver was previously installed, the option to keep the
            existing driver or Replace the existing driver will appear.
            Select Replace existing driver and then select the Next> button.

        12. Type a name for the printer object or use the supplied name. If
            the driver was previously installed using the supplied name, then
            the new supplied name will have '(Copy #)' appended to it. This
            is to ensure that two printer objects do not have the same name.
            Select whether this printer object should be the default printer
            or not and select the Next> button.

        13. If printer sharing is enabled and you would like to share your
            printer with others, you can select to share your printer and give
            it a share name on this dialog. For Windows NT 4.x you can also
            chose to install drivers for other operating systems for a shared
            printer on this dialog, but instructions for doing so are not
            included in these instructions. Select the Next> button.
            For Windows 2000 and Windows XP, if the printer was shared, then a
            description of the location and capabilities of this printer can
            be entered. Then select the Next> button.
            Note: Installation of drivers for other operating systems for a
            shared printer is available after the installation is complete by
            right-clicking on the print object and selecting Sharing.

        14. If you would like a test page to be printed through the driver
            you are installing to test if the driver was installed correctly,
            select Yes or No and then select the Finish button for Windows
            NT 4.x. Select the Next> and then the Finish button for Windows
            2000 and Windows XP.

       Installation of the printer driver is now complete.

    III.  Envelope Printing
    =======================

       When you design or print an envelope, you must select landscape
       orientation. This will ensure that the address prints in the
       correct position on the envelope. To change the orientation to
       Landscape, make the appropriate selection from the driver's Document
       Properties Page Setup or Advanced tab or from the Printer Setup
       dialog box in your application.

    IV.   Application Limitiations
    ==============================

       Some applications, such as Corel Draw, Lotus 123, and many Adobe
       application including PageMaker, Acrobat, and Illustrator, generate
       PostScript language directly instead of using the Windows GDI
       interfaces to the printer driver. As a result, some of the
       features of this driver do not work with these types of applications
       unless the Disable PostScript Passthrough control is enabled in
       the PostScript tab of the driver property sheet. However, enabling
       this control can cause the output of the application to look
       different, can take longer to generate and create a larger output
       file size. Features that may not work include Overlays,
       Multipage Printing, Negative Page, Negative Image, selectable Fill
       Resolution, Output to Fax, Confidential Print, as well as many others.

       Other applications, such as PowerPoint and WordPad, lay a solid white
       background under the area they want to print. This background can
       hide Simple Text and Overlay driver features. Specify to print Simple
       Text and Overlay features on top if you encounter this problem.

    V. Specifying the Number of Copies
    ===================================

       The Copies setting in the driver is independent of a Copies
       option that may be available in the Print dialog box of your
       Windows application. Usually, specifying the number of copies in
       the printer driver prints uncollated copies faster.
       Specifying the number of copies from your Windows application may
       slow down printing but may enable you to print collated copies if
       your applications supports this feature. Specifying a multiple
       number of copies in both the printer driver and the
       application Print dialog box should be avoided since it may
       produce unpredictable results.

    VI. Specifying the Scale
    ========================

       Some Windows applications directly provide a scaling option. With
       such an application, you should try leaving the printer driver
       scaling at 100 percent and set the desired scaling in the
       application. If this does not produce satisfactory results, then set
       the desired scaling in the printer driver and set the scaling in the
       application to 100 percent. Using variable scaling factors in both
       simultaneously may produce unexpected results.

    VII.  Downloading Overlays
    ==========================

       An overlay is a template that can be defined and then printed as a
       background on a form before the data from the current job is
       printed. For instructions on downloading an overlay, see the Help
       section of the printer driver.
