INSTALLATION
============
This modem is install by Plug and Play.

1. Install the card on your computer.
2. When Windows starts, the new modem will be detected by the plug and play.
3. Windows will ask you for the location of the device driver or it will search for you.
4. Insert this X2 Driver into your floppy drive.
5. Specify that the device driver is found in X:\ where X represents your floppy
   drive.
6. The device driver will be installed into your Windows.
7. The modem is ready.

CHECKING YOUR INSTALLATION
==========================
1. Starts Control Panel from Windows.
2. Selects the Modem icon.
3. Selects the Diagnostic Tab.
4. Selects the COM port which is use by your modem and click the "More Info" button.
5. The diagnostic will starts.
6. If you see blank, after the diagnostic, this indicates that the modem fails the
   diagnostic.

UNINSTALLING
============
1. Starts Control Panel from Windows.
2. Selects the "ADD/REMOVE Program" icon.
3. Selects "56K DSP-ES-X2 DFV Modem [Remove Only]".
4. Click the "ADD/REMOVE" button to starts the un-installation.


RE-PROGRAMMING THE X2 FIRMWARE
===============================

This sub-directory \56K_FIRMWARE\ contains the FIRMWARE code for 56kbps connections.

The re-programming process is done by running "eepr2810.exe 56esx2.bin" in MSDOS mode.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
