1.      Overview

        This disk contains configuration programs and drivers.

3.	Installation

	Please read the manual to get further information about the 
	standard installation.

4.	Parallel Port Driver Installation

	It is imperative that you follow these instructions when installing
	the parallel port driver:

     1. Installation for Windows 95 Ver.4.00.950

     a)	If your MicroLink 33.6MC is not yet installed, insert the
	PCMCIA modem card into its slot.  When started, Windows 95 
	responds with the "New Hardware Found" window.  Select the option 
	"Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" and confirm
	with "OK".
	
	The window "Install from Disk" is displayed.  Insert the ELSA 
	"Treiber Diskette für Windows 95" (Drivers Disk for Windows 95)
	into its drive, use "Browse" to	select the directory 
	A:\DRIVER\WIN95 and confirm twice with "OK".

	In the following window "Copy files" confirm with OK.  The file
	ppm.vxd will be copied onto your system.  The installation of the
	parallel port driver is complete.

     b) If your MicroLink 33.6MC is already installed, then the first 
	step is to remove it from your system configuration.  Do this by
	activating "Start" and then "Settings, Control Panel", select 
	"Modems", mark the "MicroLink 33.6MC" entry and select "Remove".
	Then exit the Modems window.

	Clicking on "Start", "Programs" and activate the Windows Explorer.
	Select your hard drive, go to the directory WINDOWS\INF and use 
	the Search option ("Extras, Search, File") to find the INF file
	containing the text "33.6MC".  This file/these files must be 
	deleted.  
	
	Now follow the installation routine as described under a).
	
     2. Installation for Windows 95 Ver.4.00.950B

     a)	If your MicroLink 33.6MC is not yet installed, insert the
	PCMCIA modem card into its slot.  When started, Windows 95 
	responds first with the "New Hardware Found" window and then
	with the "Update Device Driver Wizard".

	Insert the "Treiber Diskette für Windows 95" (Drivers Disk for 
	Windows 95) disk into its drive and confirm with "Next".  The 
	"Update Device Driver Wizard" appears again with the message 
	"This wizard will complete the installation of: Standard PCMCIA 
	Card Modem".  Confirm with "Next".

	The "Update Device Driver Wizard" is displayed with the message 
	"Windows found the following updated driver for this device: 
	MicroLink 33.6MC".  Select "Other Locations" to open the window
	"Select other location" and click on "Browse".

	In the "Browse for Folder" window, select the directory
	A:\DRIVER\WIN95	and confirm with "OK".  In the following window
	confirm with "OK" again and then in the following "Update
	Device Driver Wizard" window, select "Next".

	In the "Copy files" window, click on "OK".  The file ppm.vxd will 
	be copied onto your system.  The installation of the
	parallel port driver is complete.

     b) If your MicroLink 33.6MC is already installed, then the first

	"Modems", mark the "MicroLink 33.6MC" entry and select "Remove".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
