A) Install SMC drivers for LANtastic 5.0
   =====================================

   Using NDIS driver:
   ------------------
   SMC supports the SMC1660.DOS NDIS driver for the EZ Card 10 Ethernet ISA network cards.
   This driver replaces the AEXNDIS.DOS NDIS driver offered by ARTISOFT.

   Example  -----  CONFIG.SYS

	DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANTASTI
	DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\SMC1660.DOS	  -------> By SMC

   Example  -----  AUTOEXEC.BAT / STARTNET.BAT

	C:\LANTASTI\AI-NDIS BIND_TO=SMC1660_NIF
	C:\LANTASTI\AILANBIO
	C:\LANTASTI\REDIR MachineName

   Example  -----  PROTOCOL.INI

	[PROTMAN]

   Comments:
     If you are using PROTMAN.DOS V1.x, you must use the NO_BIND option
     on the AI-NDIS command line in the STARTNET.BAT file, and you must run
     NETBIND.EXE V1.x before AILANBIO.EXE.

B) Install SMC drivers for LANtastic 6.0
   =====================================

  Using NDIS driver:
  ------------------
   To install the SMC1660.DOS NDIS driver, you can use the LANtastic
   6.0 install program.  Select "NDIS support for network adapters,"
   then insert SMC's driver diskette and type the path "A:\LANTASTI".
   The Install program will search  for "SMC1660.DOS" and "PROTOCOL.INI" 
   and copy these two files to the target directory.

   IF you have already installed LANtastic 6.0 and want to install SMC's EZ Card 10
   Ethernet ISA network card, just replace AEXNDIS.DOS with SMC's NDIS driver,
   SMC1660.DOS, in the CONFIG.SYS file, as follows:

   "SMC1660.DOS" is NDIS driver supported by SMC
   "AEXNDIS.DOS" is NDIS driver supported by ARTISOFT

   Example  -----  CONFIG.SYS

	DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANTASTI
	DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\SMC1660.DOS	  ------->  By SMC

   Example  -----  AUTOEXEC.BAT / STARTNET.BAT

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
