4694-205/245 Windows 2000 VIDEO DRIVER INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
OBTAIN 4694-205/245 WINDOWS 2000 VIDEO UPDATE DRIVERS:
Start Windows 2000 on the 4694-205/245.
Download this 4694 Windows 2000 video driver update package file
from the 4694 support web site:
www.ibm.com/solutions/retail/store/
Click "support" then click "4694".
Scroll down to "Drivers" and download the 4694 Windows 2000
Video driver installation package (46942X5VIDW2K.ZIP).
Extract the contents of the download file to a floppy diskette or
to a new 4694 hardfile folder.
FAST PATH INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
a). Click Desktop START button, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL and DISPLAY icon.
b). Click SETTINGS, ADVANCED, ADAPTER, PROPERTIES, DRIVER, then UPDATE DRIVER.
c). Click NEXT at the "Welcome to the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window.
d). Select "Display a list of known drivers for this device" BULLET then click
NEXT. Then click HAVE DISK.
e). Insert the floppy diskette containing the download files created earlier
into drive A: (if applicable)
--OR-- enter the path to the new 4694 hardfile folder containing the
downloaded files extracted earlier. Then click OK.
f). After "ISDCORP CL-GD5446 Graphics Adapter" displays, click NEXT.
g). Click YES to "Update Driver Warning" message, then click NEXT to "Ready to
Install" message.
h). Click YES to the "Continue Installation" message.
i). After the update files are copied, click FINISH.
j). Remove the floppy diskette from drive A: (if applicable) then click CLOSE.
k). Click YES to restart Windows 2000.
DETAILED INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
1. Click Desktop START button, select SETTINGS then select CONTROL PANEL.
2. Launch the DISPLAY icon.
3. Click SETTINGS tab, ADVANCED button, ADAPTER tab, PROPERTIES button, DRIVER
tab and then click the UPDATE DRIVER button.
4. Click NEXT at the "Welcome to the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" window.
5. Select "Display a list of known drivers for this device" BULLET then click
NEXT.
6. After several seconds a window displays "Cirrus Logic 5446 Compatible
Graphics Adapter" then click the HAVE DISK button.
7. Insert the floppy diskette containing the download files created earlier
into drive A: (if applicable)
--OR-- enter the path to the new 4694 hardfile folder containing the
downloaded files extracted earlier. Then click OK.
8. After a few seconds a window displays "ISDCORP CL-GD5446 Graphics Adapter".
Then click NEXT.
9. Click YES to "Update Driver Warning" message, then click NEXT to "Ready to
Install" message.
10. Click YES to the "Continue Installation" message.
11. After the update files are copied from the source drive specified above to
C:\WINNT click FINISH.
12. Remove the floppy diskette from drive A: (if applicable) then click CLOSE.
13. Click YES to restart Windows 2000.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
