installation instructions.  This help file provides an overview of this 
diskette's contents.

        DOS diagnostic program.    

    3C90XENG.HLP: 
        Help file for the DOS diagnostic program. 

    README.TXT:
        Release notes for the 3C90X Fast EtherLink XL/EtherLink XL NIC.

    ROADMAP.TXT:
        This file which lists the disks' contents.

    LICENSE.TXT:
        3Com's Software License Agreement for the software on the EtherDisks.

    OEMSETUP.INF: 
        Windows NT OEM import file.

        Windows 95 OEM import file.

        Contains the part number and version of this EtherDisk diskette.

    HELP:  
        Contains installation and configuration instructions for some of
        the more popular network operating systems, as well as basic 
        troubleshooting tips, information on support lines, and system 
        resource information.  Use HELP.EXE to access this information.         

    WIN95:  
        Contains application support files specific to Windows 95.

    WINNT:  
        Contains application support files specific to Windows NT.
    
    WIN32:  
        Contains 32-bit Windows applications, NDIS miniport drivers,
        and support files.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
