               Driver Installation Guide for Windows NT 4.0
            ===================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to install NDIS4 driver on MS
    Windows NT 4.0 for Addtron AWP-100 PC CARD Adapter.

    Location of Driver:   \AWP-100\WINNT40\CW10.SYS
                          \AWP-100\WINNT40\OEMSETUP.INF

    * CW10.SYS is a NDIS4 driver for  Windows NT 4.0  Serve/Workstation
      System .  Although  the " Addtron  AWP-100  PC CARD Adapter"  has
      supported "Hot swap" and "Plug and Play" capability, but  Windows
      NT platform didn't support it. So,remind to insert or remove this
      PC Card must at POWER OFF state.

    * OEMSETUP.INF is a Network Setup Information File for NT Platforms.
      For Windows NT 4.0 user, you have to locate this information file
      explicitly  when the Windows device wizard is asking you where to
      find the information file for the device driver to be loaded.


Installation Procedure
======================
    1. Make sure your computer power is off.

    2. Insert the Addtron AWP-100 PC Card into your computer.

    3. Startup your Windows NT system and logon as Administrator.

    4. To install  driver, click "start" , select the " Settings " item
       and click the "Control Panel" item to open.

    5. In the Control Panel window, click on the "Network" icon.

    6. In the  Network Configuration  dialog box, choose the "Adapters"
       menu.

    7. Click on the "Add..." button.

    8. When  the Select Network adapter Type dialog box appears, select
       "Have Disk..." button.

    9. When "Install Disk"  dialog box appear,insert the driver CD into
       CD-ROM and specify  the path of the driver in  the CD-ROM ( i.e.
       D:\AWP-100\WINNT40 ) . then click on "OK" button.

   10. You  will  see  "Addtron  AWP-100  PC  CARD Adapter" list in the
       dialog box and please click on "OK" button again.

   11. The Windows NT 4.0  begins to copy driver from diskette and some
       system files from Windows NT CD-ROM or diskette.

   13. You  will  see " Addtron  AWP-100  PC  CARD Adapter" list in the
       Network Configuration dialog box and to be configured.

   14. Once you have finished the installation procedures, please click
       on the  "Close"  button .  The Windows NT will prompt you of the
       TCP/IP Properties . Click the "OK" button , when you have config
       completed .

   15. Restart your system and you will acquire network service.


Troubleshooting
===============
    1. If you have finished the installation of the driver in WinNT 4.0
       but fail to work with the network.

       Solution:
         a. Click on "Control Panel" icon and choose"Devices" icon.

         b. Search for "Pcmcia"  device item. You will see that the
            PCMCIA is disabled.

         c. Switch the " Pcmcia " device item from " Disable " into
            "Boot" by selecting "Boot" item to be active.

         d. Reboot the system.

    2. After the installation, if you just find a computer in neighbor
       but ping test time out.

       Solution:
         a. Check whether if the adapter bind TCP/IP and Enable TCP/IP
            protocol.

         b. Check  system  resources , the IRQ and I/O Base of PC Card
            whether if are occupied by other device.

    3. If your network still not work. Install " Wireless LAN Configu~
       ration Utility " and check NIC configuration.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
