Driver Installation Guide for Windows 98 ============================================== Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install NDIS4 driver on MS Windows 98/SE for PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PC CARD Adapter. Location of Driver: \LM-WP100\WIN98\CW10.SYS \LM-WP100\WIN98\NETCW10.INF * CW10.SYS is a NDIS4 driver for Windows 98 Platforms. The "PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PC CARD Adapter has "Hot swap" and "Plug and play" capability. Using with Win98, you can insert/remove this PC Card any time, not necessary to power off your computer. Installing CW10.SYS driver to Win98 is easily. Once the "PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PC CARD Adapter" driver installed, Win98 can recognize this PC Card and automatically startup the drivers and the correlative programs. No re-install or re-configuration is needed. * NETCW10.INF is a Network Setup Information File for Win98 System. For Win98 users, it is necessary to locate this information file explicitly when the Windows device wizard is asking you where to find the information file for the device drivr to be loaded. Installation procedure ====================== 1. Startup Windows 98. 2. Insert the "Wireless LAN CD" to CD-ROM and insert the "PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PC CARD Adapter" into a PC Card (PCMCIA) slot. 3. Win98 detects that a new device is added, it prompts you with the device named "INTERSIL-HFA384X/IEEE". 4. The Windows system will try to find the device driver for this device. Click "Next Step". 5 Select "Search for the best driver for your device(Recommended)" item .Then you can click on "Next" now. 6. Windows98 will ask you the location of driver disk,please select "specify a location" item and specify the path of the driver in the CD-ROM (i.e. E:\LW-WP100\WIN98). You have to click on "Next" to proceed. The "Browse" selection will help you find the location. 7. The system will install drivers now and you may be asked of the location of Windows 98 CD-ROM. Make sure you have a Windows 98 installation CD-ROM on hand and put it into your CD-ROM drive. 8. Click "Finish", When complete driver installation. 9. Once the system prompt you the driver is installed. It's time to reboot the system to effect the driver installation. 10. Restart your computer and configure the parameter settings in the "Network" configuration, if needed.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
