Driver Installation Guide for Windows 2000 ================================================ Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install NDIS4 driver on MS Windows 2000 for Addtron AWP-100 PC CARD Adapter. Location of Driver: \AWP-100\WIN2000\CW10.SYS \AWP-100\WIN2000\NETCW2K.INF * CW10.SYS is a NDIS4 driver for Windows 2000 Platforms. The PCMCIA Adapter has "Hot swap" and "Plug and play" capability. Using with Win2000, you can insert/remove this PC Card any time, not necessary to power off your computer. Installing CW10.SYS driver to Win2000 is easily. Once the PCMCIA Adapter driver installed, Win2000 can recognize this PC Card and automatically startup the drivers and correlative programs. No re-install or re-configuration needed. * NETCW2K.INF is a Network Setup Information File for Win2000 System. For Win2000 users , it is necessary to locate this information file explicitly when the Windows device wizard is asking you where to find the information file for the device driver to be loaded. Installation procedure ====================== 1. Startup Windows 2000 . 2. Insert the "Wireless LAN CD" to CD-ROM and insert the Addtron AWP- 100 PC CARD Adapter into a PC Card (PCMCIA) slot. 3. Win2000 detects that a new device is added, it prompt you with the device named "Addtron 802.11b Wireless Product". 4. The Windows system will try to find the device driver for this device. Click "Next Step". 5. Select " Search for a suitable driver for my device(Recommended)" item .Then you can click on "Next " now. 6. Win2000 will ask you the location of driver disk, please select " specify a location" item and specify the path of the driver in the CD-ROM ( i.e. E:\AWP-100\Win2000 ) . You have to click on "OK" to proceed. The "Browse" selection will help you find the location. 7. Once you confirm , Windows 2000 prompt the device name as "Addtron AWP-100". Click on "Next" to proceed. 8. The Windows 2000 system will load the files and prompt the driver location in "E:\AWP-100\Win2000\NETCW2K.INF". Click on "Next" to proceed. 9. The system will install drivers now and you may be asked of the location of Windows 2000 CD-ROM. Make sure you have a Windows 2000 installation CD-ROM on hand and put it into your CD-ROM drive. 10. Once the system prompt you the driver is installed. It is time to reboot the system and make the driver take effect. 11. Restart your computer and configure the parameter settings in the "Network" configuration, if needed.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
