                 Driver Installation Guide for Windows 2000
              ================================================

Introduction
============
    This document describes the procedure to install  NDIS 4.0 driver on
    Windows 2000 for PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter.

    Location of Driver: \LM-WA100\WIN2000\CW10.SYS


Installation procedure
======================
    Before you start with the installation process,  make sure  that your
    "PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter" should be properly installed in your
    PCI bus slot. Executing Windows 2000, it will auto-detect your system
    configuration and find the adapter hardware.


    If you want to install the driver from the driver CD.
    The procedure are as follows:

    1. Click the "Next" icon from My Computer window.

    2. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)"
       then press "Next" button.

    3. Select "Specify a location" then  press "Next" button , Insert the
       driver CD into your CD-ROM, and  specify the path of the driver in
       the diskette  (i.e. E:\LM-WA100\WIN2000)  to copy the driver files
       to your system.

    4. System will find the driver for  "PRISM2 IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter".
       Windows will copy the files after press "Next" button.

    5. Click "finish" to complete driver install.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
