note: this is NOT a PnP card and therefore you need to acquire some settings (see section below)

1. xp/2000 - goto control panel -> addd new hardware
2. click next to search for PnP devices, when done select 'yes, i have already connected the hardware'
3. click next then scroll down to the bottom of the list and select 'add new hardware device'
4. click next and select 'install hardware manually' (the second one) click next
5. select network device from the list and click next
6. click on have disk and go to the directory where you unzipped this package
7. choose 'netsmc.inf' and choose your network card model (i chose the elite 16 ultra)
8. windows will say it cannot determine the resources automatically (because its not PnP)
9. if the hardware wizard does detect your network card settings, good for you ignore the rest

--- determining/acquiring your settings ---

install windows 98
win98 will detect the card (dunno why xp/2000 does not)
right click on my computer -> properties and select device manager
select your network card and select properties (or double click on it)
go to the resources tab

note down the following:

memory range
interrupt request
input/output range

re-install xp/2000

install the network card and put those settings in

1. right click on my computer -> properties
2. select hardware tab -> device manager
3. in the list select your network card
4. select the resources tab and click the 'enter manually' button
5. after that is put in restart and it should be ok

final note

i was able to install in win98, xp, 2000 easily by creating compressed hard disk images
this can be done by acquiring a copy of norton ghost

problems? questions? email me at lord_destructor@hotmail.com

maybe its all the same but my settings for the elite16 ultra ISA are (use at your own risk):

input/output range: 000CC000 - 000CFFFF
memory range: 0300 - 031F
interrupt request: 10

WARNING: using these settings may cause device conflicts and stop windows running correctly
