This readme file also includes information which may be helpful in diagnosing problems with the Card Shot Twain driver or the Card Shot digital camera. This file can be viewed or printed again in the future from its location in the Card Shot directory (indicated in the title bar of the setup screen for viewing this file). Please take a moment to review the following information. ---------------------------- System Requirements ---------------------------- Personal Computer : IBM(r) PC/AT(r) or 100% compatible, with a 80486 or higher CPU, operating with Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 95 For faster processing, we recommend Pentium(r) CPU. Graphic Performance : 640 x 480 resolution or higher, 256 color or higher display system. To display colors more accurately, we recommend 16 million colors display system. Main Memory : At least 16 MB of available memory Hard Disk : At least 50 MB of available hard disk space (for the retrieval of about ten images) Disk Drive : A CD-ROM drive for installing the Card Shot TWAIN Driver Connector : RS232C Port ( D-sub 9 pins ) Others : Mouse ----------------------------------- A NOTE ABOUT TWAIN ----------------------------------- Since the TWAIN standard is being updated on a regular basis, and software application companies try to address these changes, you may occasionally experience some minor problems caused by applications that are not fully TWAIN compliant. General Notes ============== (a) Communication Error due to the Lack of Battery The communication between the TWAIN driver and the Card Shot may be unstable, when the battery capacity decreases to the "Low Battery" state during image acquiring or the image erasing. (b) Hard Disk Capacity The available space of hard disk decreases depending on the number of images that have been acquired from Card Shot. Be sure to get enough available space on your hard disk before acquiring a plentiful images. (c) Ejection of PCMCIA/ATA Card Please do not eject the PCMCIA/ATA card from the PCMCIA/ATA card drive slot during the acquisition of images. Likewise, please do not remove the CF card from Card Shot during the acquisition of images. (d) Windows 95 Device Manager Setting Please do not change Communications Port [COM1,COM2,..] setting to "disabled status" using Window 95 Device Manager Property Sheet. Otherwise, the communication between the TWAIN driver and the Card Shot may fail. 2. Notes on TWAIN driver ===================== (a) Hard Disk Capacity The hard disk capacity is consumed by the TWAIN driver during the loading operation of the image gallery. Be sure to get enough available space on your hard disk before loading a plentiful thumbnail images to the image gallery. (b) PC Card Icon PC card icon appears in selecting the image source when directories named \DC97 exist on the hard disk drive or the MO disk drive. (c) Failure in Loading Thumbnail Images Some thumbnail images may not appear in the image gallery in some cases. Please load the image gallery again in that case. If the thumbnail images still do not appear, please set the property of COM port from the Control Panel of Windows(r) 95. In order to set the property of COM port, please select the following items by clicking each icon or button. Start(Win95) -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Ports -> Communication Port -> Properties -> Port Settings -> Advanced Then reduce the amount of Receiver Buffer and click OK button. Please load the image gallery again after these operations. (d) Back One Screen and Forward One Screen Changing the screen of the image gallery by the operation of "Back One Screen" or "Forward One Screen" Display may cause unexpected selection of "Focused Image". (e) Canceling the acquisition of images The cancel button is effective for canceling the acquisition of a plurality of images. In that case, the acquisition of canceled after the completion of image acquisition in operation. The acquisition of the rest of the images will be canceled. (f) Display with 256 Colors It may be difficult to recognize the image gallery when the PC displays with 256 colors. We recommend to display with True Colors (16 million colors). (g) Model Name Model names for images files without the thumbnail images does not appear in the image gallery. Model names of sound files with no reference to images does not appear in the image gallery either. (h) Owner's Name The user may not be allowed to type " " (space) in the field of owner's name on some kind of personal application software. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
