1) IMPORTANT NOTE

For proper operation of the Conmark L2000 3D-Scan, a scanner-specific file with constant values is required. This file named "calconst.ini" contains individual values for every single Conmark L2000 3D-Scan. If installation of the "calconst.ini" from the included floppy disk fails during setup, an empty "calconst.ini" with a size of 0 KB is automatically installed. Please note that this file MUST be replaced by a valid constant value file for your Conmark L2000 3D-Scan!

In case the "constant.ini" file cannot be found (or if it is damaged), you can download a piece of software from the internet at http://www.3d-scan.com which allows you to generate a new scanner-specific file.

First, download the file "calconst.zip". Unpack this file and install the programm by double-clicking on "setup.exe". Finally, start "calconst.exe" and follow the on-screen instructions.




2) Recommendations

Thank yor for buying the "Conmark L2000 3D-Scan".  We believe that your expectations are high and that you are eager to start your first project straight away. Before you start, however, please consider the following:

After installing the software and reading through the first chapters of the manual, you will surely be able to finish your first three-dimensional scan. If your experience with 3D-software is rather limited, however, and you haven't defined a project scheme before, you will probably ask yourself  "what's next?"

To avoid unnecessary hassle, before you scan your first objects, you should first of all get aquainted to working with 3D Studio MAX(tm) and read the accompanying manual thoroughly. You should manually build a number of scenes and animations without using scanned objects to get a "feeling" for the third dimension. You will see that it takes a lot of effort to build certain types of objects by hand with the classic modelling tools. You will only be able to judge the real value of your 3D scanner after you have recognized how much work it can save you!  We are sure you will have lots of fun with the fascinating possibilities of the "Conmark L2000 3D-Scan".



3) Future developments

We will continue the development of the "Conmark L2000 3D-Scan". Both the scanner itself and the accompanying software are constantly being improved and optimised.

We are also considering solutions for Linux- and POVRAY-users. For further information with regards to release dates and software updates, please visit our home page at  "http://www.3d-scan.com".
