Sony Superstation External Win2000 Driver Installation This driver supports the Sony Superstation External parallel port tape drive under Windows 2000 Professional (Server is not supported). You must have a compatible version of Backup Exec installed prior to performing this update. Though the version supplied with the Superstation may work we highly recommend you purchase Veritas Backup Exec Desktop v4.5 or Desktop Pro v4.5 for Windows 2000 as they are officially compatible with Windows 2000. Though they are not officially compatible with Superstation they will work when using the driver upgrade. A trial version of Desktop Pro is currently being offered from Veritas. Go to http://www.veritas.com/us/trialsoftware.html to download the trial version. Be sure you choose the version for 2000Pro as there is also one for Win9x, NT and ME. Before performing the driver update you must also first download the Win2000 version of the EPAT Atapi driver from SCM Micro (See step 1 below). After installing Backup Exec follow the instructions below to download and complete the installation of the Superstation 2000 update. 1. Click on the link below to download the updated Shuttle driver Epatap2k.exe and save it to your hard drive. Take note on where you are saving the file, as you will need to access it later to perform the installation. ftp://ftp.scmmicro.com/connectivity/drivers/Epatap2k.exe 2. Insert a blank floppy disk into drive A and go to where you downloaded the above file and doubleclick it. You may be prompted to insert the floppy. Just click OK. Now click the Unzip button and then click OK. 3. Click on the link to below to download the file called "ssext2000.exe' and save the file to disk. 4. Now using the same floppy disk in drive A go to where you downloaded the file in the previous step and doubleclick it. Again it is called "ssint2000.exe". Click the Unzip button from in the box that appears then click OK. 5. Remove the floppy disk and shutdown the computer and connect the Superstation and power it on then power on the computer. When the Found New Hardware Wizard appears select "Search for a suitable driver" for my device from within the Install Hardware Device Drivers window and the click Next. 6. Select Specify a Location then click Next. Reinsert the floppy and type a:\ and then click Next. Once it finds the driver "SCMPPort ATAPI Adapter" click Next and then once complete click Finish. 7.
