Description:     DOS based program to check TPM fuctionality on a STMicroelectronic's TPM.

Introduction:
=============
tpm_chk.exe is a DOS 32bit diagnostic program that will check the operation of an ST TPM
running in the TCG defined 1.2 address space.

Prerequisites
=============
1) Machine booted and running DOS
2) Must have command.com

Installation:
=============
Extract the files contained in tpm_chk.zip into a temporary directory. 
Place the file tpm_chk.exe on a DOS readable media.

Running tpm_chk.exe:
======================
Usage: tpm_chk [OPTIONS]
Options:
  -s Run in silent mode (no standard output)
  -v Verbose debug mode

At the command prompt type:

    >tpm_chk

If the TPM is responding correctly, the display will look someting like this:

Firmware Version: 1.2.1.0

TPM SelfTest...Return Code: Success
TPM SelfTest Successful
====================================

If the TPM is not responding correctly, error text will be displayed.

This program will return a 0 upon success, and a non-zero for failure.

Troubleshooting:
================

If you receive an error upon running this program:

1) Check the machine booted correctly in DOS
2) Additional diagnostic information may be obtained using the "-v" option switch

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
