EMBASSY Security Center Version 1.8 (Build 1.8.0.002)

Copyright (c) 2006, Wave Systems Corp. All rights reserved.

EMBASSY Security Center (ESC) provides TCG platform management function,
advanced user authentication functions and TPM key archive and restore
functionality.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The configuration of the TPM must occur prior to first use of the EMBASSY Security Center
THE TRUSTED PLATFORM MODULE (TPM) DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE (TSS) MUST BE INSTALLED BEFORE
RUNNING THIS INSTALLER. Configuration of a TPM is typically performed by the
TPM Owner/Administrator. Refer to the computer manufacturer's documentation for
	information on configuring the TPM.

Firewalls and Antispyware Software
Users running Firewall and/or Antispyware software may experience warnings from these
tools when installing ESC. When this occurs, users must IMMEDIATELY give permission
for the ESC installation to proceed. Delay or denial of permission will result in an
invalid installation. Alternatively, users may temporarily disable Firewall and/or
Antispyware software before installing ETS, then re-enable the Firewall and/or
Antispyware software after ETS Installation is complete.

Installation Requirements:

	Hardware:
	·	PC with a Pentium microprocessor, 300 MHz or greater
	·	VGA monitor or better, set to a resolution of 800 x 600 and 16 bit color,
		or better.
	·	Trusted Computing Group (TCG) compliant Trusted Platform Module (TPM)

	Software:
	·	Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Pro with Service Pack 2 or
Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (or above)
	·	Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer version 6 (or above)

Installation Procedure:

User must have administrative privileges to install
	1.	TPM driver, and TSS must be installed on the system prior to running this installer.
	2.	Insert the Embassy Security Center Install CD into your CD-ROM drive.
	3.	The Embassy Security Center setup should start automatically. If it does not,
you can start it manually. Click the 'Start' button and Choose 'Run'.
Then type "d:\installer.exe" where d represents the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
	4.	The installation wizard will guide you through the installation
and setup of the Embassy Security Center.

Upgrade:
This package is intended for new platforms with a TPM Only.
Please uninstall any existing versions of ESC before installing this software.

Limitations and Known Issues:

	General
	1.	ESC must take ownership for Wave applications to work correctly. If Ownership of
the TPM is performed by other 3rd party software, future upgrades of Wave software
		may not occur correctly.
	2.	Users with Targus Omnipass software must uninstall the Targus software
prior to installing ESC as the Targus Software is incompatible with ESC
	3.	The ESC installation CD is required to perform a repair operation from
		add/remove programs.
	4. If experiencing intermittent "Sensor lost focus" error messages
during fingerprint authentication, user should retry enrolling fingerprint
		or restarting the application.

	Embassy Security Setup Wizard
	1.	Limited users may have the TPM Ownership state reported incorrectly in the
Embassy Security Setup Wizard. A user with administrator rights may take
ownership using the Embassy Security Center then the limited user may use
the Embassy Security Setup Wizard to configure settings.

	Wave Secure Login
  	1. Windows Fast user switching is not supported by ESC Secure Login.
	2.	After a user has logged onto the system with a Biometric sensor, a user must
login without a fingerprint before removing the biometric sensor from the
machine. If the Biometric sensor is removed and the user logs off, the GINA will
fail with a message that the device is missing and not allow any login until the
		device is replaced.
	4. Users will be unable to log in using Wave GINA if LANDesk is enabled. Users must
disable LANDesk before enabling the Wave GINA.
  	5. In the domain environment, the initiation of a forced password change in the next
user login by the domain administrator is not supported. This may be supported in
a future release of the Wave Secure Login.

	Archive and Restore
	1.	During disaster recovery, a User with Administrative Rights must restore keys prior
to a Limited Users attempting restore. Once an Administrator has restored keys,
restore will work for Limited Users as well.
	2.	The archive function requires that new keys are created with names that are
different from the names of previously archived keys.
	3. Under some conditions, archiving keys to a floppy drive may stall.
A system reboot will restore system integrity and the archive action,
if re-initiated, will continue to archive any un-archived keys.
	4.	If the TPM on the platform is reset or replaced then all enrolled biometric data
is lost and each fingerprint must be re-enrolled.
