Load Packet driver. There are two methods to load Packet driver. Method 1: --------- In your CONFIG.SYS file, include the DEVICE command. Format: DEVICE = DE22XPD.SYS [/option] <packet_int_no> Please refer to \PKTDRV\README.TXT for addition parameters Method 2: --------- Issue DE22XPD command at the DOS command prompt. Format: DE22XPD [/option] <packet_int_no> Example: C:\>de22xpd 0x62 Please refer to \PKTDRV\README.TXT for addition parameters 2. To configure your local copy of Windows 3.1 in order to access to network: You need to download WINPKT.COM from your Internet file server sites. 3. Issue WINPKT command at the DOS command prompt. Format: WINPKT <packet_int_no> The "<packet_int_no>" is software interrupt number used by packet driver. This number must be the same as driver's parameters. Example: C:\>winpkt 0x62 4. After starting winsock in Windows environment , just set correct "Packet Vector" value. 5. Winsock associated programs can be ready to used. See also winsock distributions INSTALL.DOC file 6. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
