Overview

This is the driver for the Gateway wireless keyboard.


Identification

The Gateway wireless keyboard has special keys in addition to the keys found on standard 104 keyboards.  These special keys are programmed to control specific functions, such as controlling the sound volume, opening the default Internet browser, opening e-mail software, and so forth.  The special key functions are programmed by this driver software.  The Gateway keyboard part number is located on the label on the rear of the keyboard.  This driver is only for use with the Gateway part numbers identified in the Applicable Part Numbers section of this document.


Installation

1.  After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (WUR0401.exe), files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\WUR0401 folder on the hard drive.

2.  From the Start menu, click Run. 

3.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\WUR0401\WUR0401.exe.  Click OK.

4.  In the USB Wireless Keyboard Driver Setup (0401) dialog box, click Next.

5.  Files copy.

6.  In the Question dialog box, click Yes or No to read the users guide.

7.  In the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box, very that Yes, I want to restart my computer now is selected, and then click Finish.


Removal

1.  Open Control Panel.

 From the Microsoft Windows XP default Start menu, click Control Panel. 
 From the classic Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.

 If you are in Category View, click Add or Remove Programs. 
 If you are in Classic View, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click USB Wireless Keyboard Driver, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the Confirm Uninstall dialog box, click OK.

5.  In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish.


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty installing the new driver, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps.


Reason for Update

This is the initial release of the wireless keyboard driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
