Instruction Manual to Update Firmware with Winflash 6.10

1.Installation of Winflash.exe
Please copy the following files in the same folder:

1. Winflash.exe
2. Winflash.inf
3. Winflash.dat
4. Firmware-file, e.g. R70c_xf.cip

2.How to update the firmware

1)Doubleclick on Winflash.exe. Please read the license agreement first and decide, if you agree or not.

2)You can navigate through the program, using the CONTINUE and BACK buttons. If you choose CANCEL, the program will be aborted.

3)The program can backup the actual firmware of your drive now. If you like to do that, choose YES (recommended) when you are asked for it. You can choose another destination with the BROWSE button.

4)Next you can see, which firmware-file will be used for update. With the BROWSE button, you can choose another file.

5)You can see the actual drive information:


Drive name                            FW Version                       Letter


Some information is shown, which should be followed up.

6)Now, Winflash starts updating firmware. The progress is shown with a bar. Do not switch off PC while the process continues.

7)Please turn off the PC and turn on again after updating firmware.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
