Readme File CRW2200e Firmware Version 1.0e

Note:
1. The firmware and the installer utility program are exclusively for CRW2200e.  
Do not use them for other models and devices.
It may damage the device if you use them for other models.
2. Do not modify INI file.  The modified file may damage the recorder.

When the LED on front panel of the drive blinks in amber after running the updater, 
which means the process has failed.
In that case, download the firmware file from our web site and run the update again.

Contents of the file
1. atg02312.bin                    the latest version of the firmware
2. wininst.exe (version 3.0.0.4)   the installer utility program
3. fwinst.ini                      INI file for the installation
4. readme.txt              

Usage note
Make sure to put these files in the same folder on harddisk (ex. desktop)
in order to use properly. 

Instructions 
* For Windows 95/98/98SE/Me user
1. Check the setting of "Auto insert notification" & "DMA" option
in properties of CRW2200e before installation.

* When the CRW2200e is configured as slave and you have connected
other CD-rom or CDR/RW drive as master on the same bus line with the CRW2200e,
disable "Auto insert notification" option of the drive other than 
Yamaha as well.

2. If both options are "ON", please disable them and reboot the system.

3. Open the folder of the installer and double-click [wininst.exe]
to start the program.

4. Then the message notifying you to disable "Auto insert notification" &
"DMA" options appear. 
When you have already set both options as disabled status, press [Continue].
If you have not turn them off yet, press [Exit] to finish this program.
Go to properties of CRW2200e and disable them and then reboot the system 
to start the installation again.

5. Please make sure CRW2200e is chosen as the target drive
(the drive to upgrade the firmware) in the dialogue.

6. The target firmware revision shows the version of the recorder 
you have at this moment. 
The source firmware revision shows the latest version of the firmware
for the recorder and the file name of the program.

7. Click [Update] to start the upgrade process.

8. The progress bar goes on to the end and the message 
"The firmware has installed successfully" will appear.

9. Then set both "Auto insert notification" and "DMA" option back to "ON" 
and reboot both the PC and the recorder to complete the upgrade process.


* For Windows NT4.0/2000/XP user

0. <This step is for Windows 2000 and XP user - 
in this case, the drive is connected to the secondary IDE cable as slave> 

Open the "Control Panel" and double-click on the "System" icon. 
Select the "Hardware" tab and click on "Device Manager".
And click the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" icon to open the 
"Secondary IDE Channel" window.  Then double-click the "Advanced Settings" tab.
Then choose "PIO Only" to uncheck "DMA" option. 
 
1. Open the folder of the installer and double-click [wininst.exe]
to start the installer utility program.

2. Please make sure CRW2200e is chosen as target drive
(the drive to upgrade the firmware) in the dialogue.

3. The target firmware version shows the version of the recorder
you have at this moment.
The source firmware version shows the latest version of the firmware
for the recorder and the file name of the program.

4. Click [Update] to start the upgrade process.

5. The progress bar goes on to the end and the message
"The firmware has installed successfully" will appear.

6. Reboot both the PC and the recorder to complete the upgrade process.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
