MEDION MD9385 Flatbed Scanner with Windows XP

These instructions have been provided for use with the Medion MD9385 Scanner driver installation for use with Microsoft Windows XP. For installation with Windows 98 or ME, refer to the instructions and CD Rom included in the box.
Note: (Do not plug in the scanner until told to do so)

1) Put the blue/green driver disc into the dvd drive and wait for it to autorun.
2) On the welcome screen select English.
3) On the suggested install order screen, select scanner driver.
4) On the 'flachbettscanner' install screen, select next.
5) A window containing the program shortcuts will appear, close this window.
6) When the setup complete window appears, select “yes I want to restart my computer now”. 
7) When you computer has restarted, plug in your scanner.
8) The found new hardware wizard will open, select “install from a list or specific location” and click next.
9) On the next window, you must ensure that the green dot is selected to “search for the best drivers in these locations” and that the only square that is ticked is “include this location in the search” (bottom square).
10)  Click the 'browse' button and navigate to the flachbettscanner cd.
11) Select the “win2000” folder and click ok.
12) You will be taken back to the previous window, click next.
13) At the windows driver signing window select “continue anyway”.
14) At the end of the wizard select finish.




To use your scanner, click on “start/all programs/flachbettscanner/flachbettscanner”

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
