  Introduction
Before using the USB Reader/Writer (hereafter referred to as "CU-VUSD70U"), be sure to read 
the instruction manual and take the following precautions.

1. Operating Environment

(Windows 2000 Professional)
PC 	IBM PC/AT compatible,
	Machines using Intel Pentium 133 MHz or a better microprocessor or equivalent.

(Windows 98/Me)
PC 	IBM PC/AT compatible,
	Machines using Intel Pentium or a better microprocessor or equivalent
	(For Windows Me, Intel Pentium 150 MHz or better)

2. Supported OS

Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional

Microsoft Windows 98
	* OSR 1
	* Second Edition

Microsoft Windows Me

Macintosh OS 8.6 - 9.04 (USB Manager 1.3.3f2 or better)

3. Non-Supported OS
The following Operating Systems do not support this software. Never install it in a machine
that is running them.
	1. Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0
	2. Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.51
	3. Windows 3.x
	4. MS-DOS

4. Installation of Driver Software
Other Operating Systems (OS) other than Windows 98 do not require a driver software 
installation.

  Microsoft Windows 98	
        * OSR 1
	* Second Edition[8]
					
        Before using the USB Reader/Writer, be sure to install
        the driver software using the provided setup disk.

  Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional	
     
        Does not require a driver software installation as this is 
        installed in the OS as standard.

  Microsoft Windows Me		
        
        Does not require a driver software installation as this is 
        installed in the OS as standard.

  Macintosh OS 8.6 - 9.04 (USB Manager 1.3.3f2 or better) 

        Does not require a driver software installation as this is 
        installed in the OS as standard.

5. Precautions 

   Handling precautions

   Use special care when inserting or removing a memory card.

   To avoid damaging the USB Reader/Writer 
   Do not to drop the USB Reader/Writer onto the floor, etc.
   Do not store the USB Reader/Writer in a place with high temperature or humidity. 
   Do not store the USB Reader/Writer in a place where condensation is expected.

   Software precautions

   Do not remove or insert the USB Reader/Writer during access. Otherwise, normal 
   access cannot be achieved.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
