I. Introduction
The "BOOTDISK" program is for users that wish create a boot disk
with there Addonics Pocket Cdrom loaded. There are a few steps prior
to running "SETUP". We will be assuming that your floppy drive is A:. If
your floppy drive is another letter, change the following command lines
to reflect the difference
II. DOS 6.0 or Greater
1. Get a blank floppy disk and place it into the floppy drive.
2. Format the floppy and copy the system files onto the disk.
FORMAT A: /S
3. Now that the floppy disk is bootable. You will need to copy one of
Microsoft's files onto the floppy disk. The file is called
MSCDEX.EXE. Typically, the file can be located in the C:\DOS
directory. If you aren't sure if it is on your computer, at
the root C:\ prompt, type in DIR /S MSCDEX.EXE. It will
display all the directories that the MSCDEX.EXE is located.
If your computer does find the file you can copy it from
another computer system.
COPY MSCDEX.EXE A:\
4. Copy the "BOOTDISK" file that you downloaded onto the floppy.
COPY BOOTDISK.EXE A:\
5. Go to the floppy drive

6. The prompt should read A:\. Type in BOOTDISK.
7. Type in SETUP.
8. Your disk has been successfully created.
9. Restart the comptuer with your BOOTDISK in the floppy drive.
10. Labal the floppy and put it in a safe place.
III. WINDOWS 9x (Window 95 and Window 98)
1. Go to START....PROGRAMS....MS-DOS PROMPT
2. Get a blank floppy disk and place it into the floppy drive.
3. Format the floppy and copy the system files onto the disk.
FORMAT A: /S
You can either stay in the MSDOS prompt or type in EXIT to
return to windows, whichever is more comfortable for you.
4. Now that the floppy disk is bootable. You will need to copy one of
Microsoft's files onto the floppy disk. The file is called
MSCDEX.EXE. Typically, the file will be located in the
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND directory. If you aren't sure if it is on
your computer, at the root C:\ prompt, type in
DIR /S MSCDEX.EXE. It will display all the directories that
the MSCDEX.EXE is located.
If your computer does find the file you can copy it from
another computer system.

5. Copy the "BOOTDISK" file that you downloaded onto the floppy.

6. Go to the MSDOS prompt. Go to the floppy drive
A:
7. The prompt should read A:\. Type the
following command
BOOTDISK
9. Your disk has been successfully created.
10. Restart the comptuer with your BOOTDISK in the floppy drive.
11. Labal the floppy and put it in a safe place.
IV. WIN NT 4.0
You will need a DOS base or Win9x based system to perform this function.
Please refer to the appropriate section above.
V. Installing/Reinstalling Operating Systems
PCMCIA devices load up differently than internal (IDE) cdroms. There are
some precautionary steps to take if you are installing Windows 9x or
Windows NT 4.0. If you are using a recovery disk you will most likely have
to contact your manufacturer.
1. Window 9x Installations
A. Use the bootdisk to set up the CDrom. At the C:\ prompt type in
MD CABS
B. Go to the Cdrom prompt (D:) and type in DIR. Type...
For 95 CD WIN95
For 98 CD WIN98
C. Now type...
COPY *.* C:\CABS
D. Once the files are copied...
C:
E. Change directories to get into the C:\CABS directory.
CD CABS
F. Remove any floppy disks from the drive. To begin the
installation of Win95 or Win98 type in...
SETUP
G. Follow Microsoft's instructions on how to install and the
instructions for 95/98 installation of the Cdrom.
2. Window NT 4.0
A. Use the bootdisk to set up the CDrom. At the C:\ prompt type in
MD I386
B. Go to the Cdrom prompt (D:) and type in DIR. Type...
CD I386
C. Now type...
COPY *.* C:\I386
D. Once the files are copied...
C:
E. Change directories to get into the C:\I386 directory.
CD I386
F. Remove any floppy disks from the drive. To begin the
installation of Win NT 4.0 type in...
WINNT /B
G. Follow Microsoft's instructions on how to install and the
instructions for NT 4.0 installation of the Cdrom.
3. Recovery CD-ROM's
Many computer manufacturers use recovery CD's. Please create the
Bootdisk for Cdrom support and contact your manufacturer for
furthur instructions on how to use the Recovery CD with the Addonics
Portable CDrom.
VI. Conclusion
If you computer has more that one PCMCIA socket. Try to use the BOOTDISK with
the Cdrom in both sockets, also try using the power adpater in both slost.
The built in enabler may react differently in seperate computers.
ie., load only one socket, not direct enough power to the socket

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
