KNOWN PROBLEMS OR LIMITATIONS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- o The GyroTools Email launch tool may not work with versions of Windows 98 Second Edition. o The GyroTools CD Play tool launches the default CD player. A time lag of several seconds can be expected as the CD player software is launched and queues the first selection. o The GyroTools Play/Pause toggles the Play and Pause functions of an already launched media player application. o The GyroTools Volume Mute tool may not toggle the Master Volume control if the volume is already muted. If the Master Volume is not muted and the GyroTools Mute tool is activate, the Master Volume will be muted. A subsequent activation of the GyroTools mute tool will un-mute the volume. o In the GyroTools Online Help, the Help tool located under the GyroTools "Windows" tab is described as being able to launch the GyroTools Help program. The Help tool actually launches the Windows Help program. NOTE: WITH THE RELEASE OF VERSION 7.0.28.13, THE HELP TOOL IS NOW CORRECTLY DOCUMENTED AS LAUNCHING WINDOWS HELP. PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING STEPS AS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU CAN MAP A KEYSTROKE TO LAUNCH ANY APPLICATION (WE USE GYROTOOLS HELP AS AN EXAMPLE). If you would like to configure a button to open the GyroTools Online Help (or any other applicaton), follow these instructions: 1. Go to the "Other Events" tab and right click to initiate a New Event. 2. Select Keystoke Click and select the designed keystroke combination, e.g., unclick all the boxes for ALT, CTL, Shift, Windows and select the F1 key from the pulldown menu. The F1 keystroke will be displayed under the Events column on the "Other Events" tab. 3. Next, drag and drop the Launch Application tool (located under the "General" tab) to the right of the F1 event listing under the Tool column. 4. The Launch Application configuration popup dialog will be displayed. Navigate to the Gyrotool.chm file which is located in the \Help folder of your GyroTools program directory (as defined during your installation). Your F1 key has now been configured to launch GyroTools Online Help whenever GyroTools is running. If you want to configure this F1 button to a Ultra Mouse Button Control (e.g, Double Right Click), Swipe, or HotSpot, perform the following operations: 1. Drag and drop the Keystroke tool (located under the "Input" tab) onto the desired Mouse, Swipe, or HotSpot button. A Keystroke configuration popup dialog will appear. 2. Select the F1 Key from the pulldown menu and deselect ALT, CTL, Shift, and Windows. This will configure the F1 key (which you have assigned to GyroTools Help) to a Ultra Mouse motion. By activating the specific Ultra Mouse motion you execute the F1 key which launches the GyroTools Online Help. In this way you can configure any custom keystroke to any of the Ultra's Mouse Controls and Motions! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Bug Fixes/Enhancements ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This version of GyroTools PC Edition (Version 7.0.28.13) has fixed the following bugs: o The CNTL+O executes an Open Profile command. o The CNTL+S executes a Save Profile command. o The CNTL+N executes a New Profile command. o The Leave Image option on the Pen and Highlighter tool will leave the image drawn by the tool on the screen until the screen is refreshed, overwritten, or the Erase Tool is executed. o The Erase Tool has been added. This tool erases images drawn by the Pen and Highlighter tools. o Enhancements were made to the GyroTools PC Edition installation/registration program. o GyroTools no longer has to be manually terminated from the Windows Task Bar in order to perform a system Shutdown operation. o The GyroTools PC Edition Help file now correctly describes the Help tool (located on the Windows tab) as launching Windows Help. o The keyboard and keypad tools have been enhanced to provide a configuration screen (which appears when the tools are selected for activation via a mouse operation or Swipe) with options for: 1) Configuring the tool to display a standard keyboard, enhanced keyboard or the keypad 2) Resizing the keyboards and keypad display using a slider bar 3) Automatically turning off (close) the keyboard or keypad tool after a user defined number of seconds. If the 'Hide after inactivity of...' selection box is left unchecked, the keyboard or keypad will remain displayed until manually closed by clicking on the 'X' in the upper right corner of the tools window. 4) Displaying the key entries. By selecting the 'Display keystrokes for...' checkbox, key entries will be displayed for the amount of seconds provided in the drop-down box or until the Enter key is selected. When using this tool with applications such as Windows Excel, key selections are transmitted directly to the application as they are selected. Leaving this box unchecked will allow keystroke entry without user feedback. 5) Displaying the Keyboard or Keypad Window control menu (File View). When the 'Display Menu' is selected, the user can close the tool using the File pull- down option or switch to the other keypad and keyboard formats using the View pull-down. When activated the keyboard and keypad tools are executed as a task that appears on your Windows taskbar; access to the File and View pull-down menus is gained by selecting the 'keyboard' entry on the Windows taskbar. o The Hotspots tool activation methodology was fixed so that a tool would not be launched repeatedly when the cursor was left in a HotSpot zone. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 7.
