8/4/2003 The PV-122T VS80 V57 firmware on Win2003 RSM fails to inventory with driver version 5.2.3790. Please follow the instructions detailed in this .txt file to obtain the hot fix from Microsoft. Symptom: PV-122T VS80 V57 firmware on Win2003 RSM fails to inventory and medias are not recognized. Discussion: Change in the medium transport element bit from 1 to 0 caused Win2003 to not configure the device correctly; therefore inventory fails to identify media. Solution: Obtain the following hotfix from Microsoft. For more information on the problem and to obtain a Microsoft "hotfix" for the problem contact Microsoft support at 1-800-936-2197 (select option 6) and request "Hotfix 823211 for Windows Server 2003". And read the knowledge base document located at the following URL http://support.microsoft.com/?id=823211 The Microsoft customer service representative will ask for your name, company, number and e-mail address. The hot fix can be obtained in the following way: 1. Zip file via e-mail. 2. Password protected zip file via e-mail. 3. Link to the hotfix. After the hotfix has been downloaded, complete the following steps in order: 1. In Windows Explorer, click on the hotfix you downloaded, it will extract executable files and a hotfix.txt file automatically. 2. To launch the installation program, double-click on the downloaded file. 3. Follow the instructions in the installation program. 4. Reboot the server. 5. To verify the driver installed for this hotfix: In device manager click on Medium Changers. Right click on "Benchmark VS640 DLT Autoloader" and select properties. In the Driver tab select Driver Details. The File version for this hot fix should say 5.2.3790.68 Note: The PV-122T VS80 appears as "Benchmark VS640 DLT Autoloader" in the Device manager.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
