General Issues =========================================================== a. The Dell Library & Tape Tools software has been tested on Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 2000. Although not extensively tested, the software is designed to run on Windows 95 and operating systems that support Win32 applications. b. The Dell Library & Tape Tools software should work with any properly installed ASPI compliant SCSI or Fibre Channel host adapter. c. The Dell Library & Tape Tools software requires a recent version of WNASPI32.DLL to run under Windows 98 & Windows 2000, and will update this library if needed. See Note (1). d. The Dell Library & Tape Tools software installs or may need to update COMCTL32.DLL, the Windows Common Controls Library. See Note (1). e. The "Load Tape" and "Select" buttons on DDS autoloaders become disabled when the tool scans them. In order to run the "Read/Write" or "Media Validation" test, you will need to eject the entire media magazine and re-load it in order to load a tape cartridge into the internal drive using the "Load Tape" button. * Note (1): These upgrades may affect other application programs that were dependent on previous versions of Libraries. Should a problem surface, uninstall the Dell Library & Tape Tools software, and reinstall your other application. Keep in mind that these run-time libraries are designed for backward compatibility, so most installers are designed to keep the newer version. =========================================================== 3.
