Dell SAS RAID Storage Manager(SSM) Installation
==========================================

The kit contains both mode of installation. The interactive and non-interactive.
To, install the product using interactive mode, the user may execute setup or may execute the command "msiexec /i <.msi file>" from the installation disk.
To, install the product in a non-interactive or silent mode, the user should use the command "msiexec /i <.msi file> -qn" from the installation disk.


SSM Uninstallation
==================
The product can be uninstalled using the shortcut "Dell SAS RAID Storage Manager/Uninstall" from Start Menu. The product can also be removed from Add/Remove Program.

Naming Convention of SSM Installer
==================================
The naming convention of the installer since SSM Beta version 2.8 is:
  1. Its a 8 character name with 3 characters as extention
  2. The extention is zip
  3. The first three character of the name is "SSM"
  4. The fourth character of the name is the major version number <M>
  5. The fifth and sixth character of the name is the minor version number <mm>
  6. The seventh and eigth character of the name is the release version of the installer only<RR>.

  The name will look like : SSM<M><mm><RR>.zip

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
