    This version is for ALG2302.H Windows 95 driver.

Installation Procedure for the Avance Logic Software Driver for Windows 95
Applications

1. Before installing the Avance Logic driver verify that your display type
   is Standard Display Adapter(VGA). If it is not, select this display type
   and restart Windows 95.

2. Insert the ALG2302/1301 Driver for Windows 95 Applications diskette
   into diskette drive A: (or B:) and click on Start\Run. Then enter
   A:\win95ul.exe and click on OK.

3. When the installation completes, click on the Display\Settings folder and
   then click on Change Display Type.

  .In the Adapter Type box, click on Change. A screen will be presented with
   Avance Logic 2302 PCI highlighted.  Click on OK to close the diaglog box. If
   a screen is presented showing only the standard VGA option, click on Show All
   Devices located in the bottom left of the screen, select Avance Logic and
   Avance Logic PCI, and then click on OK.

  .In the Monitor Type, click on change. A screen will be presented with all the
   vender and monitor model, select the monitor you have.  If your monitor is
   not on the list you can select Standard monitor types and the highest
   resolution your monitor can support.  Click OK to close diaglog box.
   The new driver now will automaticly set to the highest refresh rate your
   monitor can support.

4. Select the color and the resolution settings that you want and then click
   on Apply to restart Windows 95.

5. Avance Logic provides an MPEG file Video-CD player utility for playing
   Video-CD movies. The file (ALPLAYER.EXE) is located in the ALGUL95
   subdirectory. The installation creates an Avance Logic Video Player
   group, just double click on the ALPLAYER icon.

   Due to the Windows 95 Plug and Play feature, the CD-i format is not
   recognized and therefore the Video CD CD-i format is not supported.

   The way to get arround this is:
   a. Get a copy of MSCDEX.EXE from your old DOS 6.22.
   b. Put this line into your autoexec.bat
      C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:XXXX   XXXX represent the divice name of your CD-ROM
      Not the one from WINDOWS\COMMAND.
   c. Reboot your system and start win95.
   d. Go to control panel and click system icon
   e. Click on tab performance then click on File System botton and choose
      Troubleshooting tab click a check mark on the settings "disable all
      32 bit protect-mode disk drivers
   f. Reboot your system.
   Note: This might slow down your system performance.

6. MPEG video playback in both 256 (except 1280X1024) and 64K color modes are
   supported.

7. The following is a description of the MPEG file Video-CD player utility:

   Green Button: Power off ALPLAYER and return to the Program Manager
   Blue Button:  Select video format: Video For Window(AVI), MPEG, MPEG(CD-I)
   Light Blue Button: Select a video file
   ! Button: Playback option
   ? Button: The help menu
   Z Button: Zoom in
   z Button: Zoom out
   Clock display box:
        Double click here for the current frame, current playback filename,
        or current playback time.
   Video information display Box:
        Double click on the small display box for total video frame or time
        information.
   Scale display box:
        Double click here for the time or frame scale or
        click and drag on the triangle icons from each side for frame
        segmentation.

Note: If after you install the Avance Logic Win95 driver, you purchase a new
      CD-Title that is compatible with Windows 3.11, do not install the Video
      for Windows 3.11 driver, if one came with it. Doing so may cause an
      incompatibility problem with Windows 95.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
