UNIServe Online Fatwire v1.5c for Windows 9x, Windows Me, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP (OEM, Eval and Retail) "ReadMe" This file supplements the information in the Fatwire Help system. It contains Fatwire installation guidelines, infor- mation about getting support for Fatwire, and information about features or issues that are not yet documented elsewhere. Installing Fatwire for Windows ====================================== 1.1 Overview ------------ If you received Fatwire as a component of a suite of applica- tions, follow the installation instructions provided therein. If you are installing Fatwire as a stand-alone application, follow the instructions below. Fatwire is distributed in three formats: (i) On CD-ROM. (ii) As a self-extracting executable (typically FATWIRE.EXE). (iii) As a "zip" archive (typically FATWIRE.ZIP). Please refer to the appropriate paragraph below, basing your choice on your distribution format. 1.2 Installing from a CD ------------------------ If you are installing Fatwire from a CD, insert the Fatwire CD into your CD-ROM drive. If after 30 seconds the Fatire installer has not automatically started, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the root directory of the Fatwire CD, and double- click the file named SETUP.EXE. Follow the on-screen instructions. For additional information, see "Installation Options" below. 1.3 Installing from a Self-Extracting Executable ------------------------------------------------ If you received Fatwire electronically, and the file you received has an "EXE" extension (like FATWIRE.EXE), simply double-click on the file and follow the on-screen instructions. For additional information, see "Installation Options" below. 1.4 Installing from a "zip" Archive ----------------------------------- If you are installing Fatwire from a "zip" archive file (like FATWIRE.ZIP), create a temporary folder on your computer's hard drive and extract all the files from the Fatwire zip archive to the temporary folder. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the temp- orary folder, then double-click the file named SETUP.EXE. Follow the on-screen instructions. After you have successfully installed Fatwire, you may delete the temporary folder and its contents. For additional information, see "Installation Options" below. 1.5 Installing on Windows NT & Windows 2000 Systems --------------------------------------------------- If you are installing Fatwire on a Windows NT or Windows 2000 computer, you must install it while logged onto a Windows user account that possesses Administrator privileges. Fatwire is installed as a Service, and is available to user accounts that do not have Administrator privileges. 1.6 Installation Options ------------------------ When you launch the Fatwire installer, you will be asked to select between a "Quick Install" and a "Step-By-Step install". If you select the "Quick Install", the Fatwire default installation values are selected. You are then prompted to re-boot your system. If you select the "Step-By-Step Install", you are prompted: 1. To install the Fatwire icon on your desktop (the default value is "Yes"). 2. To activate Fatwire Dial-on-Demand feature (the default value is "No"). 3. To accept the default installation folder or select another hard drive folder where you want to install Fatwire. 2. Technical Support ==================== If you find yourself in need of assistance with Fatwire, you should check the Fatwire Help system, the User Guide, and the online "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) file before calling your technical support representative. You can launch the User Guide by double-clicking the file named USERSGUIDE.PDF in the \app subdirectory where Fatwire was installed. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
