DOS environment users, including users of Windows 3.1/3.11 and Windows for Workgroups 3.1/3.11, please read this document. This document contains information on the following topics: 1.0 Hot-Swap 2.0 Installation Aids 3.0 Terminology ___________________________________________________________________ 1.0 Hot-Swap ------------ The ODI DOS driver and NDIS DOS driver support an On-Line Hot-Swap function. 2.0 Installation Aids ---------------------- 2.1. If your computer's CONFIG.SYS file has the EMM386.EXE command line, please make sure the memory range D000-D7FF is excluded. Because the Card Services need this range to allocate resources for the adapter. *** Example command line *** ------------------------------------------- DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D000-D7FFF 2.2. For the PC that does not have the Card Services. The ENW-3501 works with the INTEL PCMCIA (PCIC) or compatible controller. For other controllers, please call your PC dealer to find the Card Services package. 2.3. DSCD.EXE DSCD.EXE is an integrated version of utility to enable an adapter. DSCD.EXE supports Intel 82365SL or compatible, Toshiba T3300SL's ICCNT, Socket Services v2.0,v2.10, and Card Services v2.0,v2.10. You could issue DSCD command at the DOS command prompt. Format: dscd [/hlp] dscd [/chk] dscd /parameter: /irq:h (2-15,1,11) -- IRQ number /iop:hhh (100-3C0,20,300) -- I/O base /slt:n (0-?,1,0) -- Slot number /? -- Help message /hlp -- Help message /chk -- List PC Card environment 2.4. If the ENW-3501 PC Card cannot be enabled in SystemSoft's Card Services Environment, user has to disable the CardLib command line in the CARDID.INI file. *** Example CardLib command line in the CARDID.INI file*** ------------------------------------------------------------ : [Libraries] ;CardLib=ICARD.CLB : : Then follow the instruction notes in the README file to install ENW-3501 PC Card driver. While installing the ENW-3501 PC Card driver, the related resources, such as I/O and IRQ, will be detected automatically. Following are the steps: Step 1: Disable the CardLib command line in the CARDID.INI file FORMAT: ;CardLib=ICARD.CLB Step 2: Reboot PC Step 3: Install ENW-3501 driver (ODI MLID driver example) Step 4: RUN THE install program, then select Quick Netware Installation option. Step 5: Create a batch file that executes the following \ODI.DOS\LSL \ODI.DOS\ENW35 \ODI.DOS\IPXODI \ODI.DOS\NETX (This file must be provided by user. It is possible to find it on another workstation) Step 6: Installation completed. 3.0 Terminology --------------- 3.1. SystemSoft Card Services SystemSoft is a company that develops PC Card chipset drivers. The package is called CardSoft, CardWizard, and CardWizard Pro. 3.2. Pheonix Card Services Pheonix is a company that develops PC Card chipset drivers. The package is call PCM+ 2.0 or PCM+ 3.0, etc. 3.3. Award Card Services Award is a company that develops PC Card chipset drivers. The package is call Cardware. 3.4. AMI Card Services AMI is a company that develops PC Card chipset drivers. The package is call CardManager. 3.5. DataBook Card Services Databook develops PC Card chipset drivers. The package is called Cardtalk.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
