 Introduction

        This installation assumes that the PCMCIA drivers are working properly.
        Please consult INST_DOS.TXT for help with PCMCIA Drivers.
        Getting Started will describe the installation instructions.

 Requirements
 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
        A PCMCIA compatible Laptop
        A PCMCIA chipset that is PCIC compatible (Intel, Cirrus, Vadem, and
         VLSI)
        Netware 4.xx Server Software
        A ENW-3500-2T
        A knowledge of basic DOS commands and editing text files

 Minimum Skill Level
 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
        A knowledge of basic DOS commands
        A knowledge of editing text files
        A knowledge of DOS basic file structure (CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT)
        A knowledge of the network driver configuration being used
        Please see Support Options if you are not comfortable will this
         skill level

 Getting Started
 ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

        Using the install menu (for NetWare 4.1 only
        for other version see below)
        ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
        Boot up the Novell Server.

        After booting up, execute "LOAD INSTALL".  Type:
         : load install

        Select "Driver Option" and then press Enter
        Select "Configure network drivers" and then press Enter
        Select "Select a driver" and then press Enter
        Press the Ins key to install an unlisted driver
        Press F3 to specify a different PATH (C:\SRV4X) and then press Enter
         <PATH> is the directory where ENW35.LAN resides
        Select "ENW35.LAN" and then copy the ENW35.LAN file
        Set the adapter parameters, then select "Save parameters and load
         driver"
        From the Novell Server side, execute "load install".  Type:
         :load install
          Select <NCF files options>
          Select <Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF>
        Save the file to make modifications permenent

        Modifying an existing NetWare 4.x Server
        ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
        From any workstation, log in to the Novell server as a SUPERVISOR.
        Copy all provided NLM and LAN files into your server's SYSTEM 
         directory

          >copy <PATH>\*.*   F:\SYSTEM
          <PATH> here is the directory where support NLMs and ENW35.LAN
          reside.

        From the Novell Server side, execute "load install".  Type:
         :load install
           Select <NCF files options>
           Select <Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF>
        Modify the server's AUTOEXEC.NCF file as follows.
         :load ENW35.LAN
           (msm.nlm and ethertsm.nlm will also be loaded when loading
            ENW35.LAN)
         :bind ipx to ENW35 NET=xxxx
        Shut down the server and then turn it ON again.
        The driver is now installed and running.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
